Anche quest'anno e' doveroso scrivere qualcosa in un giorno cosi' importante per il nostro paese.
Il 25 Aprile
Oggi che c'e' chi, seconda carica dello stato, vorrebbe equiparare i morti Partigiani con quelli repubblichini come se fossero la stessa cosa.
Del resto ne parlava gia', subito dopo la guerra, Cesare Pavese nel suo splendido; "La luna e i falo'".

Al di la' del doveroso rispetto per la morte non si puo' non fare un distinguo fra le due situazioni, perche si poteva scegliere da che parte stare.
Chi scelse Salo' scelse di stare dalla parte sbagliata della storia, la parte dell'invasore, delle stragi, dei rastrellamenti, delle torture degli omicidi.
Gli altri scelsero di lottare per quella liberta' che ci e' stata donata e che stiamo, non tutti, dimostrando di non meritare.

Scelsero, ragazzi di 18/20 anni, di molare tutto ed andare in montagna col moschetto per difendere il loro paese, le loro case, la loro gente.
Parlo da una terra, la Valsangone dove vivo, dove i Partigiani erano di casa, i muri di Giaveno e dei paesi vicini sono pieni di lapidi e testimonianze di chi fu fucilato proprio in quei luoghi, che perse la vita perche' noi potessimo averne una dignitosa.

È bene ricordare, perché pare che a molti sia morta la maestra, che tutte le città del nord ma anche Napoli, non furono liberate dagli alleati ma dai distaccamenti Partigiani che misero in fuga tedeschi e fascisti da soli.
Questo per sottolineare che, se mai avessimo avuto debiti di riconoscenza nei confronti degli americani, beh...li abbiamo ampiamente pagati in questi 81 anni.

La Resistenza fu un moto di popolo, c'erano dentro tutti i partiti ma anche moltissimi militari, a volte monarchici, come quelli che erano schierati sul fronte francese e che, dopo l'8 settembre, iniziarono la resistenza sulle montagne torinesi.
Per questa ragione, ora che il tempo si e' portato via quasi tutti quelli che c'erano, tocca a noi, a tutti noi, mantenerne vivo il ricordo, grati per l'immenso dono che tutti loro ci hanno regalato.

Concludo con una frase che non andrebbe mai dimenticata; "Noi tutti i Partigiani erano Comunisti, ma tutti i Comunisti erano Partigiani".

This year, too, it's fitting to write something on such an important day for our country.
April 25th
Today, there are those who, in the second highest office of the state, would like to equate the Partisan deaths with those of the Republicans as if they were the same thing.
After all, Cesare Pavese already spoke about it, immediately after the war, in his splendid "The Moon and the Bonfires."

Beyond the due respect for death, one cannot help but make a distinction between the two situations, because one could choose which side to be on.
Those who chose Salò chose to be on the wrong side of history, the side of the invader, of the massacres, of the roundups, of the torture and murders.
The others chose to fight for the freedom that was given to us and that we are demonstrating, not all of us, that we do not deserve.

They chose, 18-20 year olds, to drop everything and go to the mountains with their rifles to defend their country, their homes, their people.
I speak from a land, the Valsangone where I live, where the Partisans were at home. The walls of Giaveno and the surrounding villages are full of gravestones and testimonies of those who were shot in those very places, who lost their lives so that we could have a dignified life.

It's worth remembering, because it seems many have lost their teachers, that all the cities of the north, including Naples, were liberated not by the Allies but by Partisan detachments who single-handedly put the Germans and Fascists to flight.
This is to underscore that, if we ever owed a debt of gratitude to the Americans, well... we've amply repaid it over these 81 years.

The Resistance was a popular uprising. All political parties were involved, but also many soldiers, sometimes monarchists, like those deployed on the French front and who, after September 8th, began the resistance in the mountains of Turin.

For this reason, now that time has taken away almost everyone who was there, it is up to us, all of us, to keep their memory alive, grateful for the immense gift they all gave us.

I conclude with a phrase that should never be forgotten: "All Partisans were Communists, but all Communists were Partisans."
