Le foibe e l'esodo istriano 🇮🇹🇬🇧

In questi giorni si sono ricordate le foibe che hanno causato migliaia di morti italiani in Istria e Friuli Venezia Giulia.
La Rai, questa Rai, ce lo ha ricordato con ogni tipo di film e/o documentario.
La Russa, seconda carica dello stato (sembra una barzelletta di quelle riuscite male) ha proposto che a Sanremo andasse Umberto Smaila (quello di Colpo Grosso e dei locali di Briatore) a parlarne
perche la sua famiglia veniva da quei luoghi.
Le mie idee politiche sono note, ho anche un eta' dove posso permettermi di tenermele senza revisionismi o pentimenti.

Le foibe sono state un abominio vergognoso da parte dei titini contro la popolazione italiana cosi' come la Shoah (anche se chi la subì oggi si comporta come chi la inflisse) lo e' stata per gli ebrei.
Due infamie...con una differenza sostanziale.
Gli ebrei non fecero nulla di male ai nazisti, erano soltanto ricchi ed avevano in mano molte leve di potere soprattutto economico.
In Istria le cose sono andate diversamente.

Dal 1918 con la dissoluzione dell'impero asburgico ed in base agli accordi di Londra, l'Italia come paese vincitore ottenne l'Istria e la Dalmazia senza Fiume che fu poi annessa a seguito dell'iniziativa
di D'Annunzio.
Parliamo di terre dove, malgrado una presenza italiana, la popolazione era sostanzialmente slava, soprattutto sloveni e croati.
Col fascismo inizio' una campagna di italianizzazione a tutti i livelli, gli slavi non potevano parlare la loro lingua, alle citta' fu cambiato il nome (Dubrovnik divenne Ragusa) chi si ribellava faceva una brutta fine.
La nostra storia coloniale insegna che “italiani brava gente” fu soltanto il titolo di un film ma non la realta'.

Venne la guerra, l'Italia si schiero' con i nazisti, truppe italiane entrarono in Jugoslavia, ci furono massacri ed uccisioni, ci rendemmo protagonisti di storie che e' meglio lasciare dove stanno
perche' di onore ce ne portarono poco.
Ricordiamo anche l'invasione dell'Albania e la sciagurata campagna di Grecia.
Poi il vento cambio'.

Mussolini cadde, il Re fuggi' a Brindisi, l'esercito lasciato senza guida si sfaldo', i tedeschi se ne lavarono le mani e la popolazione italiana di quelle terre fu lasciata, dall'oggi al domani, senza
protezione alcuna.
Gli italiani erano presenti soprattutto nelle zone costiere mentre nell'entroterra vivevano 400 mila sloveni e 100 mila croati che, dopo decenni di soprusi videro finalmente il momento giusto per una rivalsa.
Arrivarono i titini, i soldati dell'armata Jugoslava, l'Italia in quel momento era divisa in due, al nord nacque Salo' e gli italiani istriani iniziarono l'esodo verso la madrepatria abbandonando
la loro terra.

Loro furono i veri martiri di quella situazione, per i titini erano tutti fascisti (non era vero, c'erano fascisti ma la maggior parte erano contadini sempre vissuti in pace) da cacciare o uccidere
visto come si erano, i fascisti, comportati con loro, per gli italiani erano degli istriani, quasi dei Comunisti, gente che non si sapeva bene da che parte stava, per i tedeschi erano dei traditori come
venivano considerati tutti gli italiani tolti i fascisti.

Fu un esodo disperato in un momento disperato.
Ci furono le foibe che non hanno alcuna giustificazione ma che sono figlie di cio' che i fascisti, gli ustascia croati ed i nazisti
fecero in quelle terre.
I titini arrivarono fino a Trieste che poi venne divisa in due zone, ci restarono fino al 1951 quando le truppe alleate gli intimarono di andarsene, lo fecero soltanto quando Stalin fece capire a Tito che non avrebbe avuto alcun aiuto e che non era il caso, per Trieste, di mettere in piedi un'altra guerra.

Quindi e' giusto ricordare quei fatti, anche per onorare la memoria di quei poveracci che ci finirono dentro le foibe, ma la storia va raccontata tutta e non tirata per la giacchetta a seconda delle
convenienze.

The foibe were a shameful abomination by the Tito people against the Italian population just as the Shoah (even if those who suffered it today behave like those who inflicted it) was for the Jews.
Two infamies... with a substantial difference.
The Jews did nothing wrong to the Nazis, they were just rich and had many levers of power, especially economic, in their hands.
In Istria things went differently.

From 1918 with the dissolution of the Habsburg empire and on the basis of the London agreements, Italy as the victorious country obtained Istria and Dalmatia without the River which was then annexed following the initiative
by D'Annunzio.
We are talking about lands where, despite an Italian presence, the population was essentially Slavic, especially Slovenians and Croats.
With fascism, a campaign of Italianization began at all levels, the Slavs could not speak their language, the names of the cities were changed (Dubrovnik became Ragusa) and those who rebelled met a bad end.
Our colonial history teaches that "italiani brava gente" was only the title of a film but not reality.

The war came, Italy sided with the Nazis, Italian troops entered Yugoslavia, there were massacres and killings, we became protagonists of stories that are better left where they are
because they brought us little honor.
We also remember the invasion of Albania and the unfortunate campaign in Greece.
Then the wind changed.

Mussolini fell, the King fled to Brindisi, the army left without a leader fell apart, the Germans washed their hands and the Italian population of those lands was left, from one day to the next, without
no protection.
The Italians were present above all in the coastal areas while in the hinterland lived 400 thousand Slovenians and 100 thousand Croatians who, after decades of abuse, finally saw the right moment for revenge.
The Titos arrived, the soldiers of the Yugoslav army, Italy at that moment was divided in two, Salò was born in the north and the Istrian Italians began the exodus towards their homeland, abandoning
their land.

They were the true martyrs of that situation, for the Tito people they were all fascists (it wasn't true, there were fascists but most were farmers who had always lived in peace) to be chased away or killed
seeing how the fascists had behaved towards them, for the Italians they were Istrians, almost Communists, people who didn't really know whose side they were on, for the Germans they were traitors like
all Italians were considered except the fascists.

It was a desperate exodus at a desperate time.
There were the foibe which have no justification but which are the daughters of what the fascists, the Croatian Ustasha and the Nazis
they did in those lands.
The Titoites arrived as far as Trieste which was then divided into two areas, they remained there until 1951 when the allied troops ordered them to leave, they only did so when Stalin made Tito understand that he would not have any help and that it was not the case, for Trieste, to start another war.

So it is right to remember those facts, also to honor the memory of those poor people who ended up in the sinkholes, but the story must be told in its entirety and not dragged by the jacket depending on the
conveniences.
