La situazione pessima del turismo a Cuba, dal punto di vista dei numeri, credo sia di dominio pubblico.
In questi giorni sto' cercando di fare il visto on line, sono 2 giorni che provo a chiamare il Consolato di Milano, mattina e pomeriggio, non risponde mai nessuno, a volte sono i particolari che fanno le differenze, differenze fra l'avere 4 milioni di turisti l'anno o averne meno di 2.

In questi ultimi anni all'Avana, ma non solo, e' stato tutto un fiorire di nuovi hotel di lusso, anche questa cosa fa riflettere.
Il turismo crolla ed invece di rivitalizzarlo con iniziative ed idee si aggiungono posti letto.
Non ultimo quella specie di mostruosita' costruita di fronte a Copelia, in calle 23, chi ha avuto l'idea dovrebbe essere messo ai ceppi per anni.

E' palese che Cuba non ce la fa a mettere in piedi un turismo d'élite tipo Barbados, Bahamas o altri paradisi caraibici, non ce la fa perche' le strutture sono quelle che sono, la gente che ci lavora guadagna una merda, manca attenzione al cliente, i buffet sono ridicoli e cose simili.
Allora perche' non abbassare il tiro e puntare ad una clientela di massa che si accontenta piu' facilmente perche' spende di meno?

Guardate la nostra Romagna.
E' vero che dopo la pandemia sono impazziti pure loro ma per decenni le pensioncine famigliari dove mangiavi bene, avevi la tua camere senza troppi fronzoli e spendevi poco sono state una colonna portante del nostro turismo.
Con un mare che e' quello che e'.
Perche' Cuba non puo' fare lo stesso?

Cura del cliente, prezzi giusti, servizi adeguati, non cercare di fottere il prossimo ad ogni pie' sospinto.
Magari hotel meno appariscenti, dove si spende di meno ma che si possono riempire piu' facilmente a patto di saper fare una buona comunicazione.
All'Avana abbassare il prezzo delle case de renta, se invece di 40 euro ne chiedi 25/30 e' piu' facile che trovi clientela a parita' di servizio.
Tunas e' quella che e' con tutti i suoi limiti ma nessuno si azzarda a chiedere piu' di 15/20 euro al giorno, in hotel ci vai con la meta'.

Perche' la capitale non puo' fare la stessa cosa?
Nei miei ultimi soggiorni ho trovato case in centro Avana a 15 euro e dentro c'era tutto, infatti in quelle case fatichi a trovare posto perche' sono sempre piene.
Un turismo piu' "popolare" potrebbe davvero aiutare a risollevare le sorti del settore in un momento tanto difficile.
Visto che la gente a Cuba ci deve
arrivare in aereo se ci fosse maggiore richiesta le compagnie aeree, che stanno abbandonando l'isola, tornerebbero.
Perche' cercare un turismo di lusso se non sei capace di soddisfarlo?

The terrible situation of tourism in Cuba, from the point of view of numbers, I think is public knowledge.
These days I'm trying to get a visa online, I've been trying to call the Consulate in Milan for 2 days, morning and afternoon, no one ever answers, sometimes it's the details that make the difference, differences between having 4 million tourists a year or having less than 2.

In recent years in Havana, but not only there, there has been a flourishing of new luxury hotels, this also makes you think.
Tourism is collapsing and instead of revitalizing it with initiatives and ideas, beds are being added.
Last but not least that kind of monstrosity built in front of Copelia, on Calle 23, whoever had the idea should be put in stocks for years.

It is clear that Cuba cannot set up an elite tourism like Barbados, Bahamas or other Caribbean paradises, it cannot do it because the structures are what they are, the people who work there earn a shit, there is no attention to the customer, the buffets are ridiculous and similar things.
So why not lower the bar and aim for a mass clientele that is more easily satisfied because it spends less?

Look at our Romagna.
It is true that after the pandemic they also went crazy but for decades the family pensions where you ate well, had your own room without too many frills and spent little were a cornerstone of our tourism.
With a sea that is what it is.
Why can't Cuba do the same?

Customer care, fair prices, adequate services, don't try to screw over others at every turn.
Maybe less flashy hotels, where you spend less but that can be filled more easily as long as you know how to communicate well.
In Havana, lower the price of houses for rent, if instead of 40 euros you ask for 25/30 it is easier to find customers with the same service.
Tunas is what it is with all its limitations but no one dares to ask for more than 15/20 euros a day, in a hotel you can go for half.

Why can't the capital do the same thing?
In my last stays I found houses in the center of Havana for 15 euros and inside there was everything, in fact in those houses you struggle to find a place because they are always full.
A more "popular" tourism could really help to revive the fortunes of the sector in such a difficult moment.
Since people in Cuba have to
get there by plane, if there was more demand the airlines, which are abandoning the island, would return.
Why seek luxury tourism if you are not capable of satisfying it?
