Big ponds/ lakes are associated with history of our place.

These big pond were dug hundreds of years ago. Because there was a crisis of drinking water in our region especially in rural areas. People do not get pure water. The ponds were dug to collect rainwater during the rainy season and for the rest of the year people could draw water from the ponds. People used to boil this water and drink it, bathe in the pond and use the water for other purposes. But at present the water of that pond is not consumed.

Most ponds were dug in the vicinity of mosques or temples. There is a provision of cleanliness for praying in the mosque or temple, so people used to take bath or ablution in the ponds. These two ponds are located in front of the two mosques, the first one is in front of the Tohakhana Mosque and the second one is in front of the three domed mosque.
