Here's a simple recipe for a classic Pizza Margherita:
Ingredients:
1 pound pizza dough
1/2 cup tomato sauce
8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a pizza stone in the oven to heat up.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to about 12 inches in diameter.
Place the dough on a piece of parchment paper and brush with olive oil.
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a little space around the edges for the crust.
Add slices of fresh mozzarella cheese on top of the tomato sauce.
Sprinkle some salt and pepper over the cheese, to taste.
Bake the pizza on the preheated pizza stone for 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once the pizza is out of the oven, sprinkle some fresh basil leaves over the top.
Slice and serve immediately.
