I wrote a post a while ago about how time passes while we wait to be served ,It's certainly a way to watch time pass. On this occasion, you felt the helplessness of waiting and waiting, but as you say, sometimes it goes faster. Well, we have to wait for the people who serve us

Waiting your turn is a bit boring, but when we have to wait too long, and neither the staff nor the people serving us seem to care, we get angry. It's not fair that they waste other people's time and do their jobs poorly. It took far too long for such a simple procedure.
