I would have published the portrait of Sylvester Stallone (Sly) yesterday but I discovered that today is his birthday and so here it is, in a shot at the time of Rocky IV.
He turns 75 and even for him time never seems to pass because he is one of those actors who remembers for the great successes obtained with the series of Rocky and Rambo. In his career he has made many other films playing different characters but for him I can see nothing but the boxer and the Vietnam veteran.
For me he was a source of inspiration and I don't know how many times I have seen his films. Above all Rocky, more than Rambo he has been an excellent ally for me to always give me strength to fight and fight for the achievement of my goals. The force that unleashes, that of the soul as well as the physical one is portentous and I think he has been for many an excellent example of a character. Sly wasn't always lucky; no one wanted to cast him, he even initially sold his dog to be able to raise money. Then the stroke of genius of Rocky's script, written by him. Writing a series of dramatic screenplays at the age of thirty is not for everyone but he succeeded. In Rocky I see a lot of him, because I believe that what he went through the first periods of his career can be seen in many aspects of the history of Balboa. Rocky IV, my favorite; in my opinion it was the best film, in the middle of the cold war by the way. In fact, there are many aspects of the disputes between the two powerful states but in his film finale the hope of seeing a world without conflicts or differences. Perhaps for many he is not an exceptional actor or performer but from my point of view, as a fan I can only be biased and consider him as one of the best performers, very Italian in some ways, a lot of passion. Long live Sly who unfortunately is no longer as young and strong as in the past. But it will remain so, in my mind, in Rocky IV with a glassy look and full of power, strength and resilience.

Avrei pubblicato il ritratto di Sylvester Stallone (Sly) ieri ma ho scoperto che oggi è il suo compleanno e quindi eccolo qui, in uno scatto all'epoca di Rocky IV.
Compie 75 anni e anche per lui il tempo non sembra scorrere mai perché è uno dei quegli attori che si ricorda per i grandi successi ottenuti con le serie appunto di Rocky e Rambo. Nella sua carriera ha fatto molti altri film interpretando personaggi diversi ma per lui non riesco a vedere altro che il pugile e il veterano del Vietnam.
Per me è stato fonte di ispirazione e non so quante volte ho visto i suoi film. Soprattutto Rocky, più che Rambo è stato per me un ottimo alleato per darmi sempre forza di lottare e battermi per il raggiungimento dei miei obiettivi. La forza che scatena, quella d'animo oltre che a quella fisica è portentosa e credo sia stato per molti un ottimo esempio di personaggio. Sly non è stato sempre fortunato; nessuno lo voleva scritturare, ha persino all'inizio venduto il suo cane per riuscire a racimolare dei soldi. Poi il colpo di genio della sceneggiatura di Rocky, scritta da lui. Scrivere una serie di sceneggiature drammatiche a trent'anni non è da tutti ma lui ci è riuscito. In Rocky ci vedo molto lui, perché credo che ciò che ha vissuto i primi periodi della sua carriera si vedono in molti aspetti della storia di Balboa. Rocky IV, il mio preferito; secondo me è stato il migliore film, nel bel mezzo della guerra fredda tra l'altro. Infatti sono presenti molti aspetti delle controversie tra i due potenti Stati ma nel suo finale di film la speranza di vedere un mondo senza conflitti né differenze. Forse per molti non è un attore o un interprete eccezionale ma dal mio punto di vista, da fan non posso che essere di parte e considerarlo come uno dei migliori interpreti, molto italiano per certi versi, tanta passione. Evviva Sly che purtroppo ormai non è più giovane e forte come in passato. Ma rimarrà così, nella mia mente, in Rocky IV con lo sguardo vitreo e carico di potenza, forza e resilienza.
