Today I propose the face of the famous statue of David by Michelangelo. This work of art by the famous Italian artist is simply beautiful and is one of the best masterpieces in the world, in my opinion. Being a sculpture I think it is an excellent model for practicing with chiaroscuro and this is what I managed to do. The lines are very sharp and virile and it is easier to notice the shadows and highlights.
However, I wanted to emphasize that this time I used only one pencil, to experiment, giving more or less pressure to create the desired effect anyway. Let's say that it could be a little more difficult than using pencils with different softness with which you can make the work more versatile in blending from dark to light. I also of course used a smudger and a precision eraser. Hope you like it.

Oggi propongo il volto della celebre statua del David di Michelangelo.
È semplicemente bellissima questa opera d'arte del celebre artista italiano ed è uno dei migliori capolavori al mondo, a mio avviso.
Essendo una scultura credo sia un ottimo modello per esercitarsi coi chiaro-scuri e questo è ciò che sono riuscito a fare.
Le linee sono molto nette e virili e risulta più semplice notare le ombre e i punti luce.
Volevo sottolineare però che questa volta ho utilizzato una sola matita, per sperimentare, dando più o meno pressione di creare comunque l'effetto desiderato. Diciamo che potrebbe risultare un po' più difficile piuttosto che usare matite con morbidezze diverse con le quali si può rendere il lavoro più versatile nello sfumare dallo scuro al chiaro. Ho anche naturalmente usato uno sfumino e una gomma di precisione.

I like the fact that despite the difficulty of the drawing itself, you further challenged yourself and restricted the artwork to just one type of pencil. You are really leveling up your skillset, and that is impressive.

Ovvio che ci piace! Credo sia anche più complicato disegnare una statua di marmo, non ha le morbidezze di un viso umano che un po' aiutano con il chiaro-scuro.
Poi ti stai cimentando con tecniche sempre più complesse, è impressionante la tua evoluzione, devi essere davvero fiero di te stesso!
