Ciao a tutti amici e amiche di Italy e di Steemit.
Per curiosità ho letto un articolo sulle previsioni del prezzo di Bitcoin a fine febbraio secondo Polymarket. (Rif.)
Intanto bisogna chiarire una cosa: non sono previsioni scientifiche.
Polymarket in realtà mostra dove le persone stanno mettendo i soldi oggi.
È una fotografia del sentiment attuale, non un modello che dice cosa succederà davvero.
E al momento, su Polymarket lo scenario più scommesso è quello di un Bitcoin laterale o leggermente debole nel breve periodo, mentre le ipotesi di forti movimenti rialzisti hanno probabilità molto più basse.
Questo tipo di dati può essere interessante per capire l’umore del mercato nel breve periodo, ma va preso per quello che è: aspettative, convinzioni, paure. Tutte cose che su Bitcoin cambiano molto in fretta.
Basta una notizia macro, un dato sull’inflazione, un movimento degli ETF o un evento imprevisto e il sentiment si ribalta completamente.
Queste previsioni possono essere utili, sì. Ma affidabili da soli, no.
Bisogna guardare più modelli insieme: analisi tecnica, macro, flussi istituzionali, derivati ecc.
Insomma usarli come spunto di riflessione va bene, ma non come bussola per decidere cosa fare.
Un altro aspetto che non sottovaluterei è la pressione che queste previsioni possono creare, rischiando di creare confusione nei retail che si stanno avvicinando ora a Bitcoin.
Chi è all’inizio tende a leggere le previsioni come se fossero certezze.
E quando i dati mostrano scenari prudenti o negativi, il risultato è spesso paura, immobilismo… o peggio, vendite impulsive.
Quindi non reagiscono al mercato, ma al sentiment del momento, amplificato dai titoli dei siti crypto.
Secondo me, questi strumenti se presi alla lettera rischiano di allontanare proprio chi è più fragile e meno esperto.

Out of curiosity, I read an article about Bitcoin price predictions for the end of February according to Polymarket. (Ref.)
First of all, one thing needs to be clarified: these are not scientific predictions.
Polymarket basically shows where people are putting their money today.
It’s a snapshot of the current sentiment, not a model that tells us what will actually happen.
And at the moment, on Polymarket the most bet-on scenario is a sideways or slightly weak Bitcoin in the short term, while the chances of strong bullish moves are much lower.
This kind of data can be interesting to understand market mood in the short term, but it should be taken for what it is: expectations, beliefs, fears. All things that, when it comes to Bitcoin, change very quickly.
All it takes is a macro news event, an inflation report, ETF flows, or an unexpected trigger for sentiment to completely flip.
These predictions can be useful, yes. But reliable on their own? No.
You need to look at multiple models together: technical analysis, macro, institutional flows, derivatives, and so on.
In short, they can be used as food for thought, but not as a compass to decide what to do.
Another aspect that shouldn’t be underestimated is the pressure these predictions can create, potentially confusing retail investors who are only now approaching Bitcoin.
Beginners tend to read predictions as if they were certainties.
And when the data points to cautious or negative scenarios, the result is often fear, inaction… or worse, impulsive selling.
So they’re not reacting to the market itself, but to momentary sentiment, amplified by crypto media headlines.
I think that taken literally, these tools risk pushing away precisely those who are more fragile and less experienced.
