I think they understood the value of BTC. That is why they have invested (or going to invest) in it.
I do not think that they are going to change it. However, if they went heavy on this, they will have a big portion of it. Maybe the majority. Who knows..?
But, speaking about changing the characteristics of it is still too early I think.
I think we are living in a time when the big players want to grab their share of BTC.
This is because when it becomes a store of value of various states, including the US, its price could really reach an unimaginable amount.
