In early October 2023, the Italian community introduced the Shield-it project, an initiative aimed at addressing instances of downvote abuse (LINK to original post).
After the initial six months of operation for the @shield-it account, 23 reports have been issued on a weekly basis. These reports have included accounts that were targeted by what was judged to be unjustified downvotes, with the aim of providing partial compensation for the losses incurred through post rewards.
Thus far, @shield-it has partially compensated 7 users from various communities who were affected by downvotes deemed to be unjustified. Additionally, six more users, who have been downvoted recently, will be included in the upcoming report.
As a precautionary measure, Shield-it has also added two accounts to the beneficiary list following direct reports, pending clarification from the accounts responsible for the downvotes. The total amount recovered on behalf of the beneficiaries currently stands at approximately 600 Steem and 8 SBD.
ATTACKS ON THE ITALIAN COMMUNITY |

The intention of the Italian community in creating this project has never been to take sides in any downvote disputes between users, nor to pass judgment on the actions of community curators, administrators, moderators, and other users in response to individual actions. Instead, the aim has been to prompt those responsible for such actions to reflect on the potential damage their behavior can inflict on the stability and credibility of the entire platform.
However, despite efforts to extend gestures of peace and attempts at clarification, the Italian community continues to face ongoing downvote attacks from the user @bullionstackers. This ongoing situation is exemplified by the following screenshots:

OTHER DISREPUTABLE BEHAVIOR TO REPORT |

Despite the fact that the @shield-it account was not originally created nor operated with this purpose, we find ourselves compelled to report yet another concerning behavior by the user @bullionstackers. In clear violation of the rules governing the Steemit platform, @bullionstackers continues to engage in the practice of using secondary accounts for the purpose of vote farming.
Specifically, posts lacking substantive content are generated through the @travel-nepali account. These posts are subsequently voted on by @bullionstackers, who ultimately emerges as the beneficiary of these votes.

The @shield-it account, along with all administrators, moderators, and users within the Italian community, prioritize adherence to all Steemit rules. We collectively hope that measures can be taken to address and halt behaviors that are detrimental to the platform as a whole.
THE FUTURE OF SHIELD-IT |

Unfortunately, the increasing number of accounts affected by downvotes, and consequently the reduction in the percentages of beneficiaries, poses a risk of diminishing the effectiveness of @shield-it's actions. In the worst-case scenario, it may even necessitate excluding some users if the number of those affected by downvotes exceeds eight in any given week.
We believe that the Shield-it project is invaluable for the Steemit platform. While we take pride in the contribution made during these initial months, we also recognize the necessity of enhancing the protection offered by the @shield-it account to prevent a loss of effectiveness.
With this post, we are formally requesting a delegation from Team Steemit, ideally estimated to be around 100K SP. This delegation would enable us to enhance and adjust the actions of our account. With this increased voting power, @shield-it would implement a more effective approach by directly voting users who have received unjustified downvotes. This direct voting would aim to counterbalance the negative impact by assigning a vote of equal weight or as close as possible to the downvote received.
By increasing its autonomy through curation gains, the @shield-it account could potentially strengthen its voting power. Consequently, it could commit to returning the delegation at specified intervals. All actions taken by the account will, of course, remain transparent and accessible to the public through the publication of our weekly reports.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and eagerly await your considerations. We are confident that this already established project can be further solidified, becoming a decisive step in addressing the issue of downvote abuse on the Steemit platform.
90% of the rewards from this post will be allocated to users who have been subjected to unjustified downvotes.

Ad inizio di ottobre del 2023, la comunità italiana ha presentato il progetto Shield-it, ovvero la creazione di un account destinato nelle intenzioni a risanare eventuali abusi di downvote (LINK al post originale).
Dopo i primi sei mesi di vita dell'account @shield-it sono stati pubblicati 23 report, a cadenza settimanale, nei quali gli account bersagliati da downvote giudicati immotivati sono stati inseriti di volta in volta come beneficiari dei guadagni dei post, trovando parziale ribilanciamento delle perdite subite.
L'account @shield-it ha fino ad oggi risarcito parzialmente del danno subito 7 utenti, di communities diverse, colpiti da downvote ritenuto immotivato, ed ulteriori sei, downvotati in queste ore, saranno inseriti nel prossimo report in programma mercoledì.
Ha inoltre inserito in via precauzionale due account, su segnalazione diretta, nella lista dei beneficiari, in attesa di un chiarimento da parte dell'account downvotante. L'importo totale recuperato in favore dei beneficiari è così pari ad oggi a circa 600 Steem ed 8 SBD.
GLI ATTACCHI ALLA COMUNITA' ITALIANA |

L'intento della comunità italiana con la creazione del progetto, non è mai stato quello di prendere posizione in eventuali battaglie di downvotes tra utenti, né di giudicare l'operato di community curators, amministratori, moderatori e altri utenti di fronte alla singola azione, ma quella di far riflettere gli autori di determinati gesti su quanto le loro azioni possano danneggiare la stabilità e la credibilità dell'intera piattaforma.
Tuttavia la comunità italiana rimane ancora oggi sotto attacco continuo di downvotes da parte dell'utente @bullionstackers, per il quale non sono serviti fino ad oggi le mani tese in segno di pace né i tentativi di chiarimento. Questo un esempio di quanto accaduto in settimana:

Nonostante non sia questa la funzione con la quale l'account @shield-it è nato ed ha operato fino ad oggi, ci vediamo costretti a segnalare un altro grave comportamento dell'utente @bullionstackers, che in palese violazione delle norme che regolano la piattaforma continua a servirsi di account secondari in un'ottica di "Vote Farming".
In particolar modo, tramite l'account @travel-nepali, vengono prodotti post privi di contenuti. In un secondo momento, essi vengono votati da @bullionstackers, che poi risulta esserne beneficiario.
L'account @shield-it ha a cuore l'osservanza di tutte le regole di Steemit e si augura che in qualche modo si possa provvedere a far cessare determinati comportamenti, rei di danneggiare tutta la piattaforma.

Purtroppo l'aumentare degli account colpiti da downvote, e di conseguenza la riduzione delle percentuali da beneficiario, rischia di rendere meno efficace l'azione di @shield-it o, nel peggiore dei casi, di costringere ad escludere qualcuno, nel caso in cui gli utenti colpiti da downvote dovessero risultare in una settimana più di otto.
Riteniamo il progetto Shield-it quanto mai utile per la piattaforma Steemit e dopo questi primi mesi di esperienza pertanto, da una parte ci riteniamo soddisfatti e orgogliosi dell'apporto fornito, ma dall'altra giudichiamo necessario, per evitare che se ne perda in maniera significativa l'efficacia, aumentare la possibilità di protezione fornita dall'account @shield-it.
Con questo post pertanto richiediamo la possibilità di concessione di una delega da parte del Team Steemit, ragionevolmente stimata su un importo di circa 100K SP, con il quale poter cambiare/implementare la modalità di azione dell'account. Con tale potere di voto, @shield-it agirebbe attraverso una modalità più efficace, quella del voto diretto, da assegnate agli utenti colpiti da downvote immotivato, per una percentuale di pari peso o il più vicino possibile a quella del voto negativo ricevuto.
L'account @shield-it potrebbe in tal modo, anche attraverso i guadagni da curation, aumentare l'autonomia del proprio potere di voto, e di conseguenza concordare la restituzione della delega a cadenze prestabilite. Tutte le azioni dell'account continuerebbero naturalmente ad essere rese pubbliche attraverso la pubblicazione del report settimanale.
Grati per l'attenzione, rimaniamo in attesa di considerazioni, fiduciosi che questo progetto già avviato possa consolidarsi in maniera defintiva e rappresentare un passo decisivo per contenere una piaga come l'abuso di downvote.
Il 90% delle rewards di questo post sono destinate agli utenti che hanno ricevuto downvotes immotivati.
