As I was walking home that evening, I spotted a few rather forlorn-looking flowers. I thought it might be worth taking a photo of them. I carried on walking, but decided to go back after all. Suddenly, there were a few bumblebees on them. It wasn’t until later, when I got home, that I realised the photos had turned out much better than I’d expected.

That is a nice photo. Sometimes, a photo turned out better than we expected and sometimes, what we thought would be a nice photo turned out disappointing .

Your "own prompt" actually refers to a third object which can be found in your photo (aside from yellow and flower) that you choose as your personal object or keyword. This is important because, if you win, your personal keyword becomes the next object that participants will look for. There are always 2 winners. So every week there will be a new pair of objects that will be presented by the participants. In your picture, there are objects or colors that you can choose from like Leaves, Stems, White, Green and Petals. Just choose one. Edit your comment to include the object you choose as your third word or personal keyword and Voila! You are now officially entered.

In my defence, I wasn’t even aware that I entered a contest. My name was mentioned and since I happened to have a photo of a yellow flower on hand, I responded to it.

It's okay. No worries. I understand your position on the matter. But just to clarify PhotoChain is not a game. It is more of a creative Challenge. Every week the words change and every participant must look for photos with the required words. It is fun because one will never know how a participant will compose his/her entry thereby giving the element of surprise and excitement to it. @wakeupkitty is an excellent example of what I call "head scratcher" entries. Always out of the box. And added to that there's plenty of interaction among the participants. I do hope you can reconsider your position about joining.
No need to apologize. Just drop in from time to time to see what the words are. Who knows? Just like this week you might have another stunningly beautiful picture of the words. Thank you for sharing.

Which makes three of us. I wonder if the leaves build a flower... Or are leaves called in some country flowers?

In general, all you need to do is submit a photo containing the two key subjects of the week that I indicate in the announcement post. The only additional thing you need to do is indicate a third key subject: anything in your photo is fine, as long as it only needs one word to indicate it and isn't a proper noun. For example, in your case, it could be petal or green or leaf. If you tell me which you choose, I can enter you among the contenders, and you will have the chance to win 1.5 STEEM.

That's absolutely right; he created the color blue.
Somehow the light makes the bumble bee's wings look blue. That alone made the photo a great one. I don't know what kind of flower this is but they look big like sunflowers. I bet they're not as forlorn looking during the day. Usually plants turn in during the night and lose their vitality while hibernating (I think). Great shot. Good luck to you this week ☺️
They’re just very small flowers, perhaps about 2 cm in diameter. I suspect it’s because dusk was already setting in, so there was much less light and there was a slight glow in the air. It was a pleasant surprise.

This is a very beautiful picture because flowers are a creation of nature that everyone loves, and besides, they come in so many colors that people get lost in their beauty.
I don't see that many these days and my garden is without. I only had the flowers of the tomatoes and strawberries but no strawberries and I truly hope the tomatoes will be ripe before the weather changes. Itbiscatormy weather right now.

You should also add your personal prompt (word). If you win that word will be used plus the personal word from the other winner for the next photo.
So this time the prompts are: yellow and flower. Both should be visible on your photo and so should your personal prompt.
It is a beautiful entry @callmeraph, but we need two key subjects: yellow and flower. I see the green-yellow tone, but I'm having a bit of trouble identifying a real flower. Do you happen to have a photo that contains both a flower and the color yellow? You still have a few hours to enter.
And remember! Also suggest the third key subject you'd like to choose (it must be included in the photo, it must not be a proper noun, and it must consist of a single word). An example might be leaf.
Let me try if I could get to see one..
