Perfect entry, thank you to join again, Wakeupkitty. I hope it was a good reading.
Welcome to the current edition and a big good luck, as usual :)

I checked on the comments and gave upvotes to those with 0.01. Is 0.02 enough to guarantee a payout?

Much less than 0.02 is enough to guarantee it. Theoretically, each upvote with a value more than 0.002 (not visible on the Steemit interface) is enough to receive a payout (author and curator). For smaller amount, I don't know. And to forecast the precise amount, I need to know each algorithm with which the Steem blockchain operates (but I don't know them).

I always thought it has to be 0.02 at least. Perhaps it has changed? I still have 'dustbunny' hopping by once in a while.

The app Steempro mobile shows three numbers behind the dot.

Thanks for the info.

I have never used Steempro mobile, maybe I'll try it. Then... I don't know precisely what is the minimum payout threshold. I know that it's less than 0.02 because I received payout for less, and theoretically each upvote with a vote value more than 0.002 takes to a payout shown by the interfaces. I don't know if smaller amounts can remain suspended on your blockchain balance and shown when you reach the minimum threshold, moment in which you can claim them.

The precise functioning depends on the blockchain algorithms, maybe @remlaps or @the-gorilla know more about.

Let's see if they answer or if the 'dust' - small amounts not being paid out - still exists. If I remember well it's each post / comment upvoted a stand alone payment. I find it hard to check sinc in average I claim once a month.

Yeah a post/comment is a stand-alone payment, but is the result of the sum of all the upvotes it receives.
Then... checking the dust from the Steem blog interfaces is impossible at the moment, because they show as minimum amount size 0.001 STEEM or STEEM POWER. So we aren't able to say if the dust remains stored as an unpaid balance on the blockchain or not.

I can't answer with much confidence but my understanding is that the dust blows away once the post is paid out. If the post/comment doesn't reach the minimum payment threshold, then you get nothing and the blockchain moves on. TRX was different in that the amount accumulated until a threshold was met and it got paid out (to reduce the number of transactions) but STEEM/SBD wasn't designed to do that. That's my understanding anyway 🙂

This was a hard one. No child in the wide area 🥴 this was all I could come up with. Good thing I didn't throw the fire extinguisher away.
Enjoy the weekend and thank you for the challenge. 👍🍀❤️

I wish you the same :)
