in HEALTH REPUBLIC3 years ago

Good evening guys and welcome to today's edition of health today. Last week i shared some tips about the liver and some body signs that indicate that the liver is diseased, you can visit my previous post here to read about the article. Today i'll be throwing more light to last week's topic, more like a continuation of last week's article. And today we will be talking about 5 things you need to STOP taking if you want your liver to stay healthy. These are the things some of us take that pose as threats to the liver especially and a continous intake of these substances would definitely do more harm than good.

Liver diseases is when the liver can no longer carry out its function effectively. So many things can trigger liver diseases ,some of these things are our day to day activities such as; heavy alcohol consumption, tattoos, using shared needles to inject drugs, exposure to people's blood and body fluids, unprotected sex, body piercings etc. When the liver is diseased some of the signs the body gives out include
*itchy skin
*dark urine color
*pale stool
*chronic fatigue
*vomiting or nausea
*chronic fatigue
*loss of appetite

  • swellings in legs and ankles
    *abdominal pains etc

SOME OF THESE FOODS THAT CAN CAUSE LIVER DISEASES ESPECIALLY WHEN ABUSED INCLUDE

ALCOHOL:

Alcohol can damage the liver and make it inflamed and swollen when abused. The damage can also lead to liver scarring which is also called cirrhosis hence limit your alcohol intake for the sake of your liver

Foods loaded with fats causes liver cells to work harder, which stresses them and then lead to liver diseases ;so reduce your intake of foods high in fats

RED MEAT:

The red meat contains a high level of saturated fat. In general, people who consume animal ;proteins are likely to have more fats in their livers than those who depend more on proteins from vegetables. Hence if you are a lover of red meat, you need to start reducing your intake as it could pose some threats to your liver

SUGAR;

The liver uses a kind of sugar called Fructose. too much consumption of refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup brings about fatty build up that causes liver disease. Abundance of fructose is not good for the liver. So lets all watch our sugar intake.

Thanks for stopping by. Lets learn to apply these steps and avoid these foods so we can all stay healthy and strong.
