My green guest
Greetings friends.
For the second day, the green woodpecker pleases me with his visits to the bird feeder hanging on a tree outside my window.
At the beginning of the week, my wife hung a piece of lard on a tree, which somehow attracted this woodpecker's attention. He flew in 2 times yesterday and I saw him in the tree again this morning.
This week, true spring weather has come to our region. Birds began to fly more actively to the feeder. What is the reason for this? Why? I don't even know. Maybe in winter, they save their internal energy, sit in secluded warm places, and try to fly less. And with the arrival of heat, they leave their houses for fresh air. Well, it's just like people.
Nowadays, it has become difficult to find good pieces of lard. Manufacturers are now using growth accelerators in feed and are trying to grow pig breeds that have little fat.
The bird obviously liked this piece of lard, so it has been flying to my tree for 2 days now. I think I'll see that long-billed woodpecker again tomorrow.

The woodpecker is one of the symbols of spring, and its sounds are a song to my soul. I had no idea they liked to eat bacon. I will follow your example in my yard :)
I often hear the sound of woodpeckers in the forest in winter. One woodpecker often flew to my house with a fir cone, stuck it into a crack in the pillar and extracted seeds from it.

Сегодня пошли с женой гулять с собакой и зеленый дятел сидел на электрической столбе. Кстати около дома у меня стоит столб и туда зимой прилетал дятел с шишкой, вставлял её в щель и клевал.
У меня же даже фотки есть.
