Urban trails.

When it comes to city life, people usually mention paths, like those in the forest, as a place and route for a stroll. In most cases, they're talking about the paved sidewalks of city neighborhoods or the alleys in parks.

And you know, many people who live their entire lives in the city might not realize that right next door, in the middle of nowhere, you can stumble upon a pocket of wilderness, like a lost world, waiting to be discovered.

Since childhood, I've loved exploring such places in the Moldovan capital; I've even picked mushrooms and berries there.

But I can't claim to know about all these places; new discoveries are still being made. LOL.

So, while waiting for my girls to see the therapist at Polyclinic No. 8 in Chekany, a neighborhood in western Chisinau, I decided to take a stroll around the building and discovered a path between the polyclinic grounds and the nearby Narazhny cooperative.

The path sometimes descended steeply from the hill, sometimes leveled out and led somewhere into a thicket of bushes and trees overgrown with high-voltage power lines.

Senya had very little time, but I managed to get acquainted with some of the vegetation and flora that inhabited it.

This wasn't difficult, as I was accompanied along the way by a large yellow dragonfly.

As the dragonfly flew from one plant to another, I saw something resembling arugula and some medicinal herbs.

But as I already said, I didn’t have time to study everything in detail.

It's not yet known how long that trail was, but you won't suffer from hunger or thirst here; you can snack on juicy wild cherries.

It's a lovely place, with plenty of interesting things to see, but I'd need to dedicate a separate day, or at least a couple of hours, to it. Maybe one day I'll fill in this blank spot of an unexplored city on my map of exploration.
