The Sixth Season of the Bengali Year

The spring is one of the most delightful seasons in Bangladesh. It is the season of rebirth and renewal. It starts in the month of Falgun (February/March) and lasts until Baishak (April).

The weather in spring is simply magical. The bitter cold of winter gradually fades away and the cool breeze brings a pleasant feeling all around. The bright sunshine and blue skies enhance the beauty of nature. The spring comes with the massage of hope and enjoyment. The trees and plants put on new leaves. The flower bloom everywhere.

One of the best thing about spring in Bangladesh is the festivals that come along with it. "Pohela Falgun" the first day of spring is celebrated with much enthusiasm and joy. People dress up with colourful and bright clothes. "Basanta Utsav" the festival of colours is also celebrated during this season. In addition, the birdwatchers can indulge their hobby. Some species of migratory birds visited the country during this season.

Overall, spring is the season that brings hope, happiness and a fresh start of everything.
