In 2009, I started earning a bit of money with my own websites. Of course, travelling was a part of the plan. And my main dream destination was Krabi, Thailand I read about on blogs. A remote seaside province covered with palm plantations, jungles, mangroves, and stand-alone limestone rocks.
The dream came true in 2011 when I bought a one-way ticket from Istanbul to Bangkok heading on my first solo trip to Asia.
Since that time, I have visited Krabi many times in all seasons, with friends and alone.

Railay is one of the gems of Krabi. This is a picturesque peninsula isolated from the rest of the world by a range of rocks covered with evergreen forest. All connections are made by boats since no roads lead to Railay. No pier upon arrival in Railay West so passengers descend right into the azure seawater and walk knee-deep to the beach. This makes them even happier.
The limited flat space is taken by one or two-storey hotels, restaurants, and spas. Gardens thrive there and no highrise buildings seen in Railay. The place surrounded by jungles and regularly visited by charming langur monkeys.

Although the settlement was built for tourist purpose, it doesn't look artificial and you can feel a touch of inspiration there. This is probably because it was not the result of a business plan but years of hard work and attention to detail by those who love this land.
Most people come to Railay for a day visit by long-tail boats from Ao Nang, a cosy seaside townlet beyond the limestone wall. You can book a comfortable room in the peninsula too. The backpackers' part called Tonsai Beach and it has space for a traveller who wants to sleep a night in a hammock below coconut trees for free. A simple bungalow can cost 10$ and less, dormitories are available too.

А как там с вопросами пандемии сейчас? Я бы с удовольствием туда отправился при случае.
Они смогли избежать эпидемии в 2020-м, гордились (медицина-то у них, правда, на высоком уровне), но в декабре началось. С апреля - подъем. И сейчас три тысячи (поисковик подсказал) в день. Что на 70 миллионов не много, но и не мало.

Суть: открывают Пхукет якобы с 1 июля, якобы Самуи, Пханган и Ко Тао с 15 июля, должна быть прививка, без карантина, но только в пределах острова, а через 2 недели можно ехать дальше по стране после получения отрицательного теста. Стандартная туристическая виза: 2 месяца + 1 месяц продления.
Пока надо чтобы все это сбылось, так как власти Таиланда известны своей переменчивостью. Но, думаю, бездействовать уже нельзя, вот они и хотят провести эксперимент. Если что-то пойдет не так, отменят все - бронировали билеты, отели - их не касается. В общем, лучше подождать: если эксперимент будет удачным, правила закрепятся, можно и поехать - осенью ли, зимой ли, декабрь - февраль у них сезон - мало дождей и частенько прохладные ночи в районе +20-22.
Да, сейчас везде непорядки и лучше не рисковать. Не факт, что быстро вернёшься, если даже и доберёшься куда ))
Я вот хотел в это лето север Ладоги проползти, но возможно и не получится. Имя моей "пандемии" - внучки )) возможно с ними до конца лета быть придётся, а для Ладоги маловаты будут :)
А вообще, Тайланд интересен, но если введут обязаловку по вакцинации, то увы и ах. Я то прививаться точно не намерен. Даже ради туризма :)
Внучки - ого... не летом, так осенью. Урал? Красоты там быть должны, горы же.
Ну, вот маленькое уточнение: пишут, что тайцы хотят, чтоб вакцина была одобрена ВОЗ, а Спутник V к таковым не относится пока и неизвестно когда. Но она на последней стадии, но дата заключительного этапа даже и не назначена по моим сведениям.(
Да, сейчас с выездом много вопросов. Сплошной "не факт".
какой Урал? :) Таки север Ладоги, ладожские шхеры. Вроде и рядом, а всё никак собраться не могу. Видимо не созрел ещё, не пускают духи))
За вакциами не слежу, мне эта мировая афёра с вирусом не интересна. Бабло там крутится нешуточное, политика, экономика, пошли они все лесом ))
Да, вообще-то 3 часа езды. Наверняка, духи, кто ж еще ))
