Photographing Architecture. The blue door

Hi friends, the theme of the last edition of the architectural photography competition left me stumped. Indeed, pictures of medical facilities... Medicine should be associated with happy deliverance from problems, health and active life, but in real life we would rather put an equal sign between medicine and pain, between medicine and suffering. Only a few days later, some ideas occurred to me which could be implemented in this phase, but I had no time to implement them already.

Привет друзья! Тема прошлого этапа конкурса архитектурной фотографии поставила меня в тупик. Действительно, фотографии медицинских учреждений… Медицина должна бы ассоциироваться со счастливым избавлением от проблем, здоровьем и активной жизнью, но в реальной жизни мы скорее поставим знак равенства между медициной и болью, между медициной и страданием. Только через несколько дней мне в голову пришли некоторые идеи, которые можно было бы реализовать в рамках этого этапа, но осуществить их я не успевала.

The topic of the new phase also almost stumped me, but for a different reason. I have a lot of photos of doors in my archive! I love taking photos of different architectural details. So I faced the problem of choosing which one to show. What to show? This door of an Art Nouveau mansion? Or this old door of a rustic cottage? When I realized that I could keep on choosing the "best door" for a very long time, I made a strong-willed decision - I choose the one that comes next when I look through the summer photos. The garage door turned out to be the next one. I was captivated by the colour scheme, texture and some of the details of this seemingly simple door.

Тема нового этапа тоже чуть было не поставила меня в тупик, но по другой причине. Фотографий дверей у меня в архиве очень много! Я люблю фотографировать разные архитектурные детали. Поэтому передо мной в полный рост встала проблема выбора. Что показать? Вот эту дверь особняка в стиле модерн? Или вот эту старую дверь деревенского домика? Когда я поняла, что я могу продолжать выбирать “лучшую дверь” очень долго, я приняла волевое решение — выбираю ту, что что следующая попадётся мне при перелистывании летних фотографий. Следующей дверью оказалась дверь гаража. Меня пленила цветовая гамма, фактура и некоторые детали этой простой, на первый взгляд, двери.
