Just How Positive Can We Be?
From time to time, I have been told that I should "take a more positive attitude" towards life.
I suppose it's true that I'm not exactly a fount of positivity, perhaps because I choose to walk the path of realism more than anything.
To be honest, when everything is crumbling around you and you've had a really bad day running around pretending like everything is peachy and perfect sounds more disingenuous than positive, as far as I'm concerned!
Much of the time, I'd say that "positive" is more an expression of your actions than it's the product of whether or not you're being eternally cheerful, in the face of adversity.
Of course, that's my personal bias, because I tend to be someone who keeps going, even when things are not going well... and while I might even be complaining about how bad things are.
Better that, than deal with someone who's sitting on the sidelines, while trying to be an eternal cheerleader!
Which got me to thinking about the distinct and different ways people look at what it means to feel supported in their lives; in their endeavors.
If you see someone struggle with something, for goodness sake offer to pick up part of their load to help them, don't just stand there telling them how "impressed" you are with their ability to bear a burden that's almost breaking their back!
What does "support" really mean to you?
Moreover, do you support people in the same way you would feel supported, or do you give support in a way that's different from how you receive support?
It's one of those areas in which I often discover that people are remarkably INconsistent!
But getting back to the whole positivity thing, I am just not feeling very positive about the world of crypto, at the moment.
On the other hand, I'm feeling quite positive that I will get up and write blog posts this weekend and next week, regardless!
Both of these sentiments are based squarely in reality. The Cryptosphere royally sucks at the moment, and that weighs on my mind, and no amount of positive rah-rah "buy the dip, buy the dip!" cheerleading is likely to alter than fact.
But, while blogging here is perhaps my most direct connection to crypto, my feeling about blogging is pretty much unchanged. I'm not suddenly going to stop, if Steem dips below $0.07 (as I said, yesterday!).
Life throws a lot of different stuff at us, and all we can really do is get up and put one foot in front of the other; keep on keepin' on, as the saying goes!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
