The Hustle Continues: Another Day in My L⁷ife
Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well? Welcome to another episode of my diary where I'll be sharing with you how I spent my day. From the yard to the construction site and election saga, today's episode was quite interesting. You'll enjoy reading it, trust me.
I started my day with my normal routine. I can't do without praying because it has become part of me. After praying and brushing my teeth, I did some home workout. I started with squats and push-ups, and it took me some minutes. I believe so much in workout because of the physical strength and body development it gives me, which has remained part of me. I work out on a daily basis just to build myself. Though it does hurt sometimes, I feel the pain because I know it won't be easy to become what you've imagined yourself to be.
I went to have my bath immediately after the workout and dressed up for work. I wore clothes that suited what we're currently doing on site, which is benchmarking, where we make use of cement and sharp sand. Here's the view of the yard. There's a big black gate at the entrance with security men on standby. I entered the yard before 7 AM, signed in, charged my power banks, and then headed to the site.
I got to the site and went to sit in a shop where they sell akara. On my way to the shop, I saw a truck full of bags of cement parked there, while some labourers were busy offloading the cement into a shop close to where the truck was parked. I watched them for some minutes and took the pictures below. I sat with the woman for a while and noticed that the weather had changed and started feeling cold.
We didn't start work on time. We eventually started in the afternoon and worked for about three hours. After working, I trekked to where the bus was parked so I could get a seat while others were still rounding up. It took us about 30 minutes to get back to the yard from the site.
When I got to the yard, I collected my power banks and also bought a bag of sachet water. I placed it on my head and started heading home. At that point, I was already very tired. It was one of those days where you just want to get home, rest, and forget everything that happened during the day.
That was pretty much how I spent my day, from praying and working out in the morning to going to the yard, heading to the construction site, working for a few hours, and finally returning home tired but grateful. Thank you so much for reading.
