THE HEART OF SABAH
Its been long since the pandemic. I went to visit the great place located at Kampung Mesilau, Kundasang, Sabah. In front of me was the highest mountain in Malaysia called Gunung Kinabalu also known as Mount Kinabalu. It is protected as Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage.
This mountain height was 13,435ft. There are many foreigners visit Borneo to climb this mountain. This mountain climb worth 20,000 stairs!
On 5th June 2015, the earthquake struck Sabah with a magnitude of 6.0 which last for 30 seconds was a nightmare to the climbers on that day. 19 people were found dead after the incident. The earthquake change the landscape of the mountain forever. You can see the scar still remain in the picture above.
My tribute to the ‘malim gunung’ who are risking their life to save the climberson that day. Condolonces to the family who lost their relatives during that day 🙏🏼
