Grayish spotted street. Part 2

in WORLD OF XPILARlast month

Now I want to talk about the very principle of spotting. I have a lot of books with photos by different authors on different topics, and I always liked to look at the details.

It's a pity, because of the limit of the physical capabilities of optics, I can't create such a depth of field so that all the objects in the frame are in focus.

And the longer the focal length, the stronger this effect is...

It turns out that I'm trying to make a graphic pattern out of an ordinary street with people and objects.

That is, I shoot street graphics...or a graphic street.

Moreover, only a telephoto lens is capable of this.

It is difficult to collect many objects at the usual focal lengths familiar to the eye.

But I've been able to do that, too. This requires a lot of chiaroscuro.

I wonder how I will feel on this wave in some Tokyo or Mumbai?

I'm trying to squeeze out the most details where there are very few of them.

What if I find myself in a place where there are so many of them?

Why haven't I seen pictures like this before, where it's just a solid chaotic carpet of many small details and objects?

Isn't anyone filming like that anymore?

..I didn't have enough contrast that day, but I was still trying to capture something.

Sometimes it was just people in the background of something.

If you choose the most spotty of the entire shoot, out of all fifty-odd pictures, then there will be no more than ten.

And this ten, if placed together, will look harmonious.

But, as I have said many times, I show the whole creative path, albeit with a large selection.

To be continued...
