Photography: Icelandic people defiant as further Covid outbreaks! threaten to ruin perfecly good summer festivities! (New Photography)
A "Bankers Holiday"!
As the headline indicates, Icelanders seem to have been reluctant to give up the tradition of "Commerce Holiday", or Bank Holiday. (Correct terminologies of whom the festivities are "honouring" would be Merchants & Shop-keepers/employers of shops).
This Holiday, which always takes place the first weekend of August and is "devoted" to Merchants since it was a union of shop-emplyee´s who first got this holiday as official in their contracts sometime during the class struggles of the centurie that just passed us by .
Icelandic people of all ages from all walks of life, along with the sparadic tourist visitors went out for a "meet & greet" under the heavy beats & base from this young DJ.
However, while going through the photographs from today, i have to say, the coolest one of all is that woman going about her business like it ain't no thang. DJ, a semi rape going on or at least something disgusting involving teenagers. Going on, a guy photographing and the screams of underaged teenagers on cheap internet ordered ecstasy about to be fingered by their cousin, screaming in the background 16 year old girl groups! ..
Nah she just casually went by and was genuinely annoyed... of course...
Talking about the obvius, ofcourse this "buisnesman" was here, showing his general disregard for the health and well being of his "neighbour", too make a quick buck, he´s risking selling Covid laced chemically altered sugars on sticks as "treats" for children... and the occasional drunk teenager-man/woman.
And the "cart" is originally named and decorated as the "PARTY-CART"... Nice ain´t it? 🤑...
However i wont give him much flak, i´m glad he was there. But also the "Tivoli" had apparantly sprung up in town over night, as it sometimes seems to "do". However at least at the moment of Mr-Photo´s passing & recording of this "gif" video staff was wandering around aimlessly or sitting, few kids cried and the moms tried to negotiate to leave this beutyfully melodramatic Icelandic version of a Tivoli, during a pandemic.
Here is another one that after "Man-Handeling" from "Mr-Photo" himself with the help of the phone app "snappseed"... (well, and drugs, truly wouldnt have done it without the drugs, lol! 🤤...) became pretty cool, the bird.. heh, the bird and the kid following it, i, i like it 😀
And then there was a grunge photo, (of course) that i also made while on drugs. And that's this yellow truck over there, it is crazy cool & might have some pretty boring (relative to coolness) stories associated with it. Anyway, here is that yellow truck,.
And then to "cool it down" and so that no one leaves feeling disappointed or "goofed" out of his hard pressed upvote by my "dumb-ass". i raise you, this image of a fire truck (athough from a few weekends ago). it´s still a valid fire truck picture. shut up.
Ah, i do recall that "grunge" Akureyri festival image... where was it, here it is..."Grunge-town"!
Having "cooled it down" with some excellent "Fringe Scandinavian color schemes and drug abuse" influenced photography and after work. i here present you with a "par-excelancé", (i checked, they are apparently) photographs from a recent walks of mine.
The all clearly indicate, the end off summer and the turning off the seasons, we move toward my favourite time of year, the melancholic fall.

Thank you @eythor-photo that you are posting from our community page and as always there is such story. I like the Public holidays no matter what they are dedicated but the fact that people are outside, celebrate for example summer, good mood, grilling that is worth it. I love the picture with colorful trucks, that already made it to look like a holiday. Beautiful photography as usually :)
