Space, I have always thought of space as a never ending vacuum, spread out as far as the eyes can see. Forever beyond the reach of man, a phenomenon that propels the sense of an overtly grand venture. This made me wonder, if the entirety of space were to be occupied, there would be an endless supply of things an infinite possibility. This thought has driven me for years and as a result I became an astronaut. This is not an easy feet and studying and applying took some great deal of time. I however got the job of my dreams and flew on some short missions to the moon and back.

As it happens, the need for a search for resources in nearer planets is not just an idea I solely have. The government of my country 'Noir' set up a team to find usable minerals on nearby planets like Mars. The trip took several months and getting there was to the mind exhausting but the thought of seeing a different landscape and the solace a new environment brings calmed our minds. The planet as research shows is much bigger than Earth and covering it (especially in search of minerals) would take years if not decades.

On one of our recon missions, we saw a flare in the sky and this wasn't part of the usual atmosphere. It lasted for days and since it wouldn't go we had to investigate lest we fall victim of some unfortunate accident. We tried sending a message over but we couldn't tell if it transmitted or not since we were experiencing slight glitches from our monitors. We therefore moved into our ship after rubbing minds together. We took of and soon was in space. It wasn't when we were at close reach and couldn't turn back that we realized it was a singularity. I have always been fascinated by this phenomenon but being a victim of it though struck different.

We were sucked in and amidst our yelling we discovered it was a gateway. A gateway to a place, a place in space. It wasn't a planet or a rock, just the paradise I had wished. The idea that if the entirety of space were to be occupied, there would be an endless supply of things an infinite possibility.
