Liverpool 4-0 Galtasaray

Liverpool needed to win, as Galatasaray had won the game in Istambul 1-0. And as expected they went all in from the first minute. A complete hurricane hit Galatasaray, who actually did not even take a shot at Liverpool's goalkeeper until overtime in the first half a header easily saved by Alison. But the first goal took some time coming, after a lot of near misses and some good goalkeeper saves, Szoboszlai scored a very nice goal from a corner kick, a noticeably practiced play. After this Liverpool had a Salah penalty shot which was saved by the Turkish goalkeeper, whom I must say was about the best man on the field, he made some incredible saves, this could have been an 8 or 9 goal rout.

In the beginning of the second half Liverpool secured the win with two relatively early goals from Ekitike and Gravenberch, Salah scored the fourth goal which was really the best goal of the match. Liverpool had two goals disallowed, one a clear offside, the other goal, scored by Macallister, I really saw no reason for it not being allowed. Of course in a case like this I have to assume the referee had to see something.

All in all a very deserved Liverpool win, which gives us some hope of going further than I thought the team would just a few days ago. Now our future rival is Paris Saint Germain, this should be a great two games. I am of course rooting for Liverpool but PSG do have a great team. Today we just outplayed Galatasaray, who by the way won the Istambul game very clearly and I think should have scored another goal. A 2-0 lead for them would have made this game very different.
