Venezuela Again

Silver Raffle Highlights and the Ongoing Crisis in Venezuela
Earthquake Leaves Venezuela Facing Another Humanitarian Emergency
Venezuela has once again been shaken by tragedy following a powerful earthquake that caused widespread destruction across several regions of the country. Among those affected is Hive community member @fonestreet, whose home suffered structural damage, including large cracks in the walls and support columns.
Although the damage to the house is concerning, many families across the country have endured far worse. Reports indicate that the hardest-hit areas include Caracas, La Guaira, Tucacas, Catia La Mar, and other coastal communities. The disaster claimed thousands of lives and left many more injured, while rescue teams and volunteers continue searching for survivors beneath collapsed buildings.
The emotional impact has been immense. For those who survived, relief is often accompanied by sorrow as countless families mourn loved ones or wait anxiously for news of those still missing.
Citizens Step Forward to Help
As rescue efforts continue, ordinary Venezuelans have played a major role in providing food, supplies, and emergency assistance. Volunteers from different cities have organized relief efforts, packed donations, and sent trucks carrying humanitarian aid to affected communities.
However, several eyewitness reports and community accounts have alleged that some relief supplies were intercepted by authorities before reaching victims. These claims have fueled frustration among volunteers, many of whom believe that civilian-led humanitarian efforts have faced unnecessary obstacles during an already devastating crisis.
A Community Comes Together
In response to the damage suffered by @fonestreet, members of the Hive community have launched a fundraising initiative known as the Silver Raffle. The campaign was organized by @bulliontools to help raise funds for repairing the damaged home.
The community's response has been encouraging.
Current campaign progress:
- 90 raffle tickets sold
- 258 HIVE raised
Every ticket purchased represents more than financial support. It reflects the strength of an online community willing to stand beside one of its members during an extremely difficult time.
As Venezuela continues its long road toward recovery, stories like this serve as a reminder that community support, generosity, and solidarity often become the strongest source of hope when disaster strikes.
