Era un día gris que se empezaba a teñir de blanco. El frío se adueñaba de cada rincón del parque del parterre. El viento aullaba entre las ramas vacías de los árboles desnudos y la nieve caía, leve, pero sin pausa. En su rincón, los niños de bronce seguían jugando a las canicas, sin importarles que la nieve ya les cubriera los hombros y la espalda. A su alrededor el parterre estaba desierto, y el silencio era roto tan solo por el sonido del viento. Había algo hermoso en aquella soledad. Era como si el parque se hubiera detenido en el tiempo, y todo lo que quedara fuera la paz, la quietud y la blancura de la nieve.

It was a grey day that was beginning to turn white. The cold was gripping every corner of the Parterre Park. The wind howled through the empty branches of the bare trees and the snow fell, light but steady. In their corner, the bronze children continued to play marbles, not caring that the snow already covered their shoulders and backs. All around them, the flowerbed was deserted and the silence was broken only by the sound of the wind. There was something beautiful in that solitude. It was as if the park had stopped in time and only the peace, the stillness and the whiteness of the snow remained.
