Portrait drawing of the “Tribal mark series “
In todays edition of my drawing series which I started few days ago, this happens to be one of the kids edition I have created, well this was a quick and random sketch.

This themes brings about awareness of how generations and cultures have evolved. Way back in Nigeria tribal marks are initiated from a young age, and it’s very hard to escape it except if your parent didnt approve of it. They see it as beauty and tradition, well I was born in an era where it was not so common, my late dad had it from childhood, and it was inscribed by his grand mother. It was so common in the olden days but now no one cares and gradually we are beginning to see a generation where there are not people with tribal marks anymore.
Materials
Charcoal and crayon on paper
progress
My drawing process started with a free hand sketch which I then proceeded into adding crayon colors to my subject face, but I tried to make soft strokes of shades on the face so as to give it a patter and texture.

final render
This drawing I summary shows that even kids weren’t exempted and in most case it started from a young age.
