Archaeopteryx - The ancient wing

Archaeopteryx.jpg

The Archaeopteryx is one of the most famous prehistoric creatures, often considered the "first bird" due to its blend of both reptilian and avian characteristics. It lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 150 million years ago, in what is now Germany. The name Archaeopteryx means "ancient wing" or "ancient feather". As a key transitional species between non-avian dinosaurs and modern birds, Archaeopteryx provides critical evidence for the evolutionary link between dinosaurs and birds. It possessed characteristics of small theropod dinosaurs, such as teeth, claws, and a long tail, as well as bird-like features such as feathers and wings.
This is a digital artwork created using Leonardo AI, based on my original drawing, depicting the iconic prehistoric bird-like dinosaur, highlighting the vibrant feathers, and a dynamic pose, with a rich colour palette, combining traditional artistic intent with modern generative tools.

A Kindle and paperback version with much more information is available on Amazon, currently only in Spanish. I am working on an English version.
