Blender Grease Pencil | Master the "Intuitive" Grid Method (Method 2)

in WORLD OF XPILAR23 hours ago

In my [previous post (https://steemit.com/world-of-xpilar/@jorgevandeperre/unlock-perfection-creating-the-ultimate-diagonal-grid-in-blender-grease-pencil-method-1), we looked at a strictly mathematical approach to creating grids in Blender. Today, we’re diving into Method 2.

While Method 1 was all about precision, this second technique is simpler, more intuitive, and feels much more "artistic"—though it requires a bit of a keen eye for detail. This is perfect for those who want a grid that feels organic but is still professional enough for high-quality printing.

Instead of complex math, we’re going to build one perfect square and grow it.
In Draw Mode, select the Rectangle Tool.
Set your thickness to 0.01.
Once you have a 2x2 square module, add the guides.
Use the Line Tool (0 Subdivisions) to draw diagonals from corner to corner.

Select your finished module, copy it, and begin tiling it across the workspace.

Method 2 offers a more "hands-on" feel compared to the mechanical nature of Method 1. It’s about finding the balance between digital efficiency and the soul of a hand-drawn guide.

I’ve documented the entire process step-by-step so you can follow along, even if you’re just starting out with Blender.
