Celtic Knotwork - basic principles IV, the "Lover's knot"
Hi friends!
This knot, called "Lover's knot" is a never-ending loop that could symbolize interconnectedness and eternity.
To draw it make a grid of 6 squares by 4 squares and determine the central point of the squares as shown here below.
The structure of this knot is very simple and to make the construct even more comprehensible I drew this first sketch using straight lines.
As you can see, with these simple traces the knot is already done.
By making some modifications we will get a nice knot...
Round the four corners and extend the centre diagonal lines (top and bottom) to intersect them as in the drawing below.
Draw the final lines with a convenient width, paying attention to the interlacing, leaving the stroke once above the other and the next below.
I drew the loop with red arrows to show the endless continuity.
