Islamic art - eightfold shapes II
Hi friends!
This change will lead to a different order of the design as you'll see.
At this stage, in the previous post, we started drawing the grid to fill the drawing paper with the design.
We'll proceed to draw a second external square but rotated 45° as shown below in red.
This is the shape, ready to be repeated on the drawing surface. To do this, we will extend the parallel lines from each intersection, in all orientations, i.e. horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines.
In this close-up, you can appreciate all the helplines traced and extended from the shape.
Here below, the entire surface with the helplines traced.
Here I started to sketch the shapes in pencil over the helplines.
Once the drawing is finished and precise, choose the colours you want, one or two for the shape, another for the resulting intermediate shape and another for the background.

Thank you very much!!
You are right once the first pattern of the square is done the helpline will allow the pattern to appear easier. When I look at the colourful version due to two colours it makes our eye to see two shapes one is star shape and another a cross :)
By the way Jorge, I was wondering if you would like to create a digital art for the new competition that is run by @fijimermaid, provided you have time and if you like to. You are one of the best Artist on Steemit in both traditional art and digital.
