This statue, created by the skilled hands of Brazilian sculptor Hildebrando Lima, represents none other than Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira, former president of Brazil.
People passing by cannot help but feel drawn in. It is not just a statue, it becomes part of the community. Juscelino's friendly gesture and approachable demeanour as he sits comfortably, cross-legged, in a very "relaxed" pose, welcomes everyone. It is as if he is there, extending a hand of greeting to his compatriots and foreigners alike, thus displaying that warm hospitality that is so characteristic of the Brazilian nation.

This bronze statue shines with a warm golden colour when the light falls on it. You can see the texture of his shirt and the way it folds, how his pants wrinkle at the knee, and even the veins in his hands.

One of Hildebrando Lima's famous works is this seated bronze statue of the former president of Brazil. This is a fine example of realistic art, as well as artistic vision, which was able to capture Kubitschek's affable yet dignified demeanour.
