Video - Study drawing for two fish
Hi friends!
I made this short video to show you some techniques I use to draw. Hope it could be useful to you all.
First, keep in mind that the "purity" or "cleanliness" of the pencil stroke depends on the grain of the paper and the hardness of the pencil lead.
Only experience, trying with different pencils and different papers, allows us to know which one is the most suitable for what we want to do.
In this case, I used a charcoal pencil, B hardness on a fine-grain drawing paper.
I used a mechanical pencil to draw very smooth lines, which would then be invisible.
The trick to drawing very smooth, loose lines is to hold the pencil from very far back so that it is almost "lying" on the paper, very different from the way we hold the pencil to write.
The direction of the lines is important too to help define specific parts of the body.
Finally, to get darker areas, the hatching technique is fundamental, crossing lines when drawing.
Are you curious about drawing techniques?
