World of XPILAR - B&W PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #072 ~ Panning

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

Panning photography or intentional camera movement is a speciality of mine. This is a technique I practice often and in this post, I will present three of my favourite images, all in monochrome. The purpose of panning photography is to separate the subject from the background and to create an impression of movement or speed.

The first photo in this post is my entry for the World of XPILAR - B&W PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #072 by @axeman and @xpilar.

Above: I saw this guy driving all around the downtown area and I tried several times to get a good shot... finally I saw him coming again and I fired off a burst of six shots and one of them came out in perfect focus. I don't know what kind of car this is, perhaps it's a kit.

Below... here are a couple of other panning shots of cars that I've taken.

You have achieved excellent results with this technique. I like the first one the most, it is the richest :)

Thanks very much! I was very happy with this photo :-)
