WOX Travel Contest | Week 17 | Backer's Fall | 3% that save lives!
Hello Steemians!😎
How are you guys? Last week I told you about a reseviour In this time I'm going to tell you about Baker's falls. That is located at Horton Plains Ok without further ado Let's move to the story,
Baker's Falls, belonging to the Horton Plains National Park in Nuwara Eliya District, is 20 meters high. It is located about 3 km from Horton Plains entrance. Baker's Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Sri Lanka, is fed by Belihul Oya. Also, the catchment area of this fall is Pattipola or Ohiya.
Ohia, Pattipola and Nanperial Estates are located near Horton Plains National Park, 14 km from Pattipola and 13.5 km from Ohia to Bakers Falls.
Tourists can drive 10.5 kilometers to the Horton Plains National Park entrance. From the entrance one has to walk 3 km inland enjoying the natural beauty.
Samuel Bakers is credited with discovering Bakers Falls. He, a British hunter, saw this waterfall when he was hunting one day. As this waterfall was discovered by Baker in 1845, his name was added in his honor.
Baker's Falls, fed by the Ballyhull Stream, is not the only waterfall in Horton. There is a large pool at the top, and bathing in it is very dangerous. Also, it is said that there are deep rock caves inside the water pool where the water flows from the waterfall.
The environment around the waterfall is very charming. Most of the plants around it are marigolds and ferns. Horton Plains deals with constant wet weather. Tourists can visit here at any time, and the opportunity to create camps has also been provided.
I have written several articles about Horton Plains and you can see them by visiting my blog.
