Triptych with Goose onion

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 months ago

These are some of the first spring flowers that fill my beds every spring. It is impossible to get rid of them, because very small bulbs can never be completely selected from the ground and they reappear and grow rapidly in large families. In the process of harvesting them from the beds, I created this bouquet for my photo fun and now I have something to show

And only now I learned that Goose onion is an edible plant, which contains vitamins C, E, P, B, iodine, sulfur, keratin, garlic essential oils and organic acids. Its leaves and bulbs have a characteristic garlic smell, about the same as that of the well-known wild cherry. The leaves, rich in minerals and vitamins, are widely used for preparing spring salads, meat and fish dishes, sandwich pastes, as well as seasoning for soups and borscht.

It remains to try to stop fighting it, and learn how to use it as food. I'll start today, as there is a lot of it and it would be better to eat it than throw it away.
