By @maazmoid123

The world is increasingly driven by technology and every day we read some new news related to a new emerging technology. The IT industries in different countries play a leading role in the booming of their economies. According to the Economic Times, the India Technology industry surpasses $250 Billion in Revenue in the fiscal year of 2023-24. While the Pakistan IT industry is expected to reach $3.10bn in 2024. Pakistan is currently realizing the importance of training its workforce with the educational barriers to enter into this thriving industry, the people in the authorities understand that this industry still has so many growth opportunities, and as this world is embracing technology at an unprecedented pace, Pakistan’s need for the IT professionals are also soaring.

Pakistan’s IT industry is experiencing rapid growth and sits at the forefront of the nation’s economic journey. However, there is still a significant gap between the demand for a talented workforce and the available workforce. This gap is not just acting as a barrier but also restricting Pakistan’s potential to fully capitalize on the potential of the IT Sector.

This is where Free IT Courses are emerging as a ray of hope for this country, acting as a bridge and paving the way for a brighter future for this country and individuals, especially for the youth of Pakistan. Programs like Bano Qabil Pakistan, along with many others are playing a vital role in shaping the future of the Nation, providing IT education, and empowering individuals to contribute to shaping the future in tech.

Skills Gap in Pakistan:

The skill gap in Pakistan’s IT industry stems from various factors, there is also a factor of supply and demand. Rationally what we see in Pakistan a formal university education has been a primary pathway into IT careers for individuals, and this route has often become a riddle because of financial hurdles, making it inaccessible for many talented individuals.

The IT industry of the whole world is evolving rapidly and it demands constant adaption and curriculum updates, which the traditional educational system struggles to keep pace with and transfer to the students. This skill gap shows serious repercussions. It creates an uneven field for individuals with less privileged backgrounds limits the pool of qualified candidates and hinders the growth of the IT sector.

In Pakistan nowadays we see that the software houses are growing, and demand for a skilled IT professional is increasing rapidly, and many graduates lack the basic skills needed for that job or required by the employers.

A Gateway of Opportunity:

Free IT courses are the Gateway of Opportunity for individuals, especially for the youth and women of Pakistan who are underprivileged and were not able to continue formal university education because of financial issues. These Free IT courses are revolutionizing the landscape of Pakistan by providing individuals the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the IT Industry and also to start earning and supporting their families in which hard economic time. Where Inflation is hitting every single home, with these skills individuals can earn dollars and have started spending it in Pakistan.

Platforms like Digiskills.pk, a Government initiative offer a vast array of online courses in various IT fields, while Alkhidmat Bano Qabil is also no doubt a prime example of such an initiative, which has designed courses, catering the disciplines like Web Development, Digital Marketing, Graphic design, and Content Writing, which are delivered by experienced Instructors on onsite classes. These courses are designed to equip the Youth of Pakistan with primary skills and knowledge to step directly into entry-level jobs in the IT industry easily.

Transforming Lives:

These no-fee courses are not just about giving individuals some basic skills, they are more about transforming lives. By equipping the individuals with these basic IT skills and providing them the tools to succeed in the IT sector, these free courses are opening doors for personal growth, and financial security.

The Impact of the free IT Courses extends far beyond individual skill development. It is transforming the lives of the youth of Pakistan. Alkhidmat Bano Qabil has already launched in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad now launching in Peshawar KPK as well. And in Karachi, they already have students who have passed out from Bano Qabil 1.0, we interviewed some successful individuals from Bano Qabil 1.0 Karachi, where a graduate Ms. Sana Shahid shared her story and shared that “Before joining Alkhidmat Bano Qabil, I was lost and unsure of my future. Today, I'm a proud junior developer, supporting my family. This program was a life-changer."

Another individual Ms. Ayesha Jawed shared “6 months ago I had no idea about a digital marketing & freelancing course, I learned a lot in this course, not only marketing and personality development, but also communication skills and many other soft skills.” She also added “In these 4 months of course I have 1900+ followers on LinkedIn and I achieved my first client through LinkedIn, who paid me 12,000 PKR for a week of Work. My parents & I can't believe that I earned 12000/- in 2 days through digital Marketing.”

Free IT education is not training some individuals and giving them some skills” they are building an essential foundation for our country’s economy. These programs are giving opportunities to less privileged people. It is giving equal opportunity to the women of this country. These stories of Ayesha and Jawed showcase the power of the transformative effect of equipping individuals with the tools to build a brighter future for themselves.

A Domino Effect:

The benefit of free IT Education or courses goes beyond just filling out some job gaps. They play a crucial role in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within the ecosystem, which ultimately propels the economic momentum of the country. When the individuals who have the knowledge of the market and are empowered will develop their tech startups. It will create a domino effect, enabling individuals to build better lives, and simultaneously contributing heavily to the technology sector of Pakistan.

Moreover, the increase in the export of IT services will translate into more foreign currency inflow, which will then contribute to national development. By investing in free IT education, Pakistan is investing in a brighter future for the country.

Lastly, we must say that the Free IT courses are a beacon of hope for the individuals of Pakistan for bridging Pakistan’s IT skills gap. Empowering the youth and fostering a skilled workforce are paving the way for a more robust and competitive industry, this journey is far from over. The
continuous innovation in the content of these courses and collaborations between the government and the stakeholders can bring a solid impact on these initiatives.
