It is truly a Rappers Delight =/= Wer singt mit? ENG-GER
A few days ago, the movie "Dazed and Confused" came to mind again, which I would probably call one of my favorite movies. And probably out of curiosity, I went to see what Wikipedia had to say about this film. As usual, I was quickly redirected from there and ended up at another movie by the same writer and producer Richard Linklater. I haven't been able to watch this movie called "Everybody Wants Some!!!" yet, but a few movie clips on YouTube have already made it clear that I better not miss it and that I should definitely watch it at the next available opportunity.
In one of these previews, you can see a group of young men in a car rocking out to a rap song, which of course was not unknown to me. Even though I couldn't quite put my finger on the name, I quickly realized that we were dealing with one of the first commercial and published rap songs of all time.
Sugarhill Gang's "Rappers Delight" from 1979 hasn't lost a bit of its groove even today and has probably gotten even better over the years. You can really argue about the rap and hip-hop music of recent years, but here we are definitely dealing with a classic that has become a catchy tune for me.
Thanks to the internet, anyone can now find the lyrics to their favorite songs and sing along loudly, and that's exactly what I've been doing over and over again in the last few days. The reason is simple - it's fun and puts me in a good mood. I've even caught myself rhyming my own lines and reciting them without being asked. And I seem to have infected the little ones with it too. It's probably never too early or too late to awaken and stimulate your creative side.
So I'm sure I'll be rapping and singing to myself tomorrow again and will definitely find someone to join in. Music is always great and it doesn't matter whether I'm in the car, in the shower or in the living room. I'll probably have the following lines on my lips a lot more often in the near future and at the same time I will have a big smile on my face. Sometimes it just doesn't take much to create a good mood...

Vor ein paar Tagen kam mir mal wieder der Film "Dazed and Confused" in den Sinn, welchen ich wohl als meinen Lieblingsfilm bezeichnen würde. Und wahrscheinlich aus Neugier schaute ich dann einmal, was Wikipedia denn über meinen Film so zu berichten hätte. Von dort wurde ich wie üblich schnell weiterverlinkt und landete daher auf bei einem anderen Film, welche vom gleichen Schreiber und Produzenten Richard Linklater stammte. Diesen Film mit dem Namen "Everybody Wants Some!!" konnte ich mir zwar bisher noch nicht ansehen, aber ein paar Filmauschnitte auf Youtube haben wir bereits deutlich gemacht, dass ich ihn mir besser nicht entgehen lassen und bei der nächsten sich bietenden Gelegenheit unbedingt ansehen sollte.
In einem dieser Previews sieht man unter anderem eine Gruppe von jungen Männern in einem Auto zu einem Rap-Song abfeiern, welcher mir natürlich nicht unbekannt war. Auch wenn ich nicht gkeich auf den Namen kam, konnte ich doch schnell rausbekommen, dass wir es hier mit einem der ersten kommerziellen und veröffentlichen Rap-Song aller Zeit zu tun hatten.
Sugarhill Gang's "Rappers Delight" aus dem Jahre 1979 hat auch heute kein bisschen von seinem Groove verloren und ist wahrscheinlich mit den Jahren sogar noch besser geworden. Über die Rap und Hip-Hop Musik der letzten Jahre kann man wahrlich streiten, aber hier haben wir es definitiv mit einem Klassiker zu tun, welcher zur Zeit bei mir zu einem richtigen Ohrwurm geworden ist.
Dank Internet kann heute jeder die Lyrics zu seinen Lieblingslieder finden und laut mitsingen, und genau das habe ich in den letzten Tagen immer wieder gemacht. Der Grund ist ganz einfach, es macht Spaß und gute Laune. Und ich habe mich sogar dabei erwischt, meine eigenen Zeilen zu reimen und ungefragt vorzutragen, und auch die Kleinen scheine ich damit ein wenig angesteckt zu haben. Wahrscheinlich ist es nie zu früh oder zu spät, die in einem schlummernde kreative Seite zu wecken und zu stimulieren.
Von daher bin ich mir sicher, dass ich auch morgen ein wenig vor mich hinrappen und hinsingen werde und garantiert jemanden finde, der mit einstimmt. Musik ist immer gut und wer singt, sündigt nicht. Ob im Auto, unter der Dusche oder auch im Wohnzimmer, in der nächsten Zeit werde ich die kommenden Zeilen wohl noch des öfteren auf meinen Lippen haben und dabei ein breites Lächeln in meinem Gesicht zur Schau tragen. Manchmal braucht es einfach nicht viel, um gute Laune zu verbreiten...
