I could remember few days ago when i shared with you guys the images of a Dragonfly spotted on a sunflower.
In that my post, I didn't tell you guys any attribute of neither the Dragonfly nor the sunflower.
So therefore, here I am today posting the same images, but this time around with their attributes......

The name of the dragonfly is known to be RUDDY DARTER
It belong to the species of Skimmers (Libellulidae)
It can also be called

Darter
Ruddy sympetrum
Its botanical name is Sympetrum sanguineum.
The picture of Ruddy darter dragonfly I'm showing to you guys is a MALE.
But then, how do we identify male and female Ruddy darter dragonfly?
What differentiated them (male and female) from each other is their body colour.
The male Ruddy darter is always in Red colour
Overall bright red,
Pterostigma red,
Compound eyes crimson.
While its female is always golden yellow in colour
Overall yellow,
Pterostigma black
Compound eyes brown.
Though they both have 2 pairs of transparent wings which shows a brown Pterostigma and an orange colour at the Base of the wings with 3 pairs of black legs attached to it.....
Now to talk of the sunflower
The name of the Sunflower is known to be Melampodium Sunflower
Which belongs to the species of Blackfoots
Its also know as

Its botanical name is Melampodium divaricatum.
