A Moment After the Rain

After the rain everything feels a bit different. The air is cooler and damp, and most of the dust is finally gone. You step outside and immediately notice the smell of the ground. What caught my eye the most were the roses.

The flowers were covered with big drops of rain. Their color looked calmer and claener, without that sharpness you get in hot weather. Some buds were still closed. The leaves and all the greenery around looked darker and fresher. Everything felt more alive, even though it was hot and dry not so long ago.

A bit later I noticed a snail. It was slowly crawlingg over a wet clay pot with peeling paint. It felt like the snail was watching me. In the end it ended up in the shot too.

It’s one of those quiet moments after the rain when nothing special is happening, but you still enjoy just looking around.
