WOX Blogosphere Magazine #151

in WORLD OF XPILARlast month

WOX Magazine.png

This time there were so many cool posts that after the publication of the magazine, there were 11 more posts in my notebook that were worth including in the issue. Isn't that wonderful?!

I continue the initiative of small support of the best authors. 60% of the reward from each issue will be given to the three authors whose articles were most frequently published in the magazine in the last 10 issues (20% to each author).

This time the leaderboard looks like this:

Author
The number of articles included in the magazine
@jaynie
18
@denmarkguy
14
@soulfuldreamer
11

And now let's move on to today's issue.

Listening is Love!

True listening means being totally present with the other. In a sense, it's a meditation — hence, this came from a meditation retreat — because you have to be willing (and able!) to empty your head of everything "you were going to say" and only focus on the other.

Down the memory lane...

And just in that moment, I was transported back to my own childhood with my family. When us siblings used to gather for such sahri meals, my dad would have the television on for morning qawwalis of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Aziz Miyan Qawwal. The distinct aroma of my mother's parathas coming out of the kitchen. Me, still sleepy, coming to the table. For me, getting up for sahri was the most difficult thing. Still is. But if I don't get up now, nobody will have a chance to eat anything. Funny, how the roles have reversed.

Unpopular Opinion

Nine times out of ten, you will find that the majority of people will respond positively and will give feedback that is related, sensible and in line with what you have put forward… However, there are ALWAYS going to be those that will judge you, comment purely to try and get a negative rise out of you and those that just don’t get your message at all.

My creative workspace

I have been improving my workplace for many years. It is really very important to me that everything is as aesthetic as possible (from my point of view, and I have a peculiar view of aesthetics), and to place all the materials that I need for work and to preserve the aesthetics is a challenge in general. But I managed :)

Beneath the Veil, From Ramparts to Renaissance & From Stone to Story

Today I’m gonna be playing photographer and a storyteller, cuz the places i managed to dug up from my library will probably catch your attention. Don’t expect it to be warm this time, but kinda foggy and rainy, but still exquisite - Northern Italy. 😄

Visiting The Historic Town of Leominster in England

Recently, we visited the market town of Leominster (pronounced Lem-stuh) in the county of Herefordshire, England. It has a number of historic or timber-framed buildings. This post is about this cool town and the photos I took while we were there. This post is powered up by 100%.

Berlin

The Reichstag, one of the most famous buildings is more than just a political institution, it is a testament to the country's history and architecture. The building was originally built in 1894 as the home of the German parliament, known as the Reichstag. Over the years, however, the building has undergone numerous changes, becoming a symbol of both the unification and division of Germany.

The Lone Creative - Just a little story about my friendship with Dean Moriarty

Dean was definitely one of those individuals. He refused to fit into any sort of box or mould and whilst this annoyed or bored a lot of people - it intrigued me. Instead of flippantly disregarding him or his writing, I began taking the time to try and truly understand what it was that he was actually saying when he put pen to paper.

London for Stuckism

Knock on wood, but Rose and I get very lucky with travel. What made the ocean crossing extra special was meeting other artists strutting and struggling with their expression. Now I’m spoiled. I don’t want any more long-distance travel without meeting kindred spirits. It was such an honor to be guests of painters I admire. The Internet world can be real and human-all-to-human, but never the truth. I kept a transcribable voice journal on my phone. I’ll present the shorter version here, along with some photos and video.

My Brother Got Married...

My brother's wedding posts will be a series because weddings in Pakistan are so lengthy, it'd be impossible to complete it in a single post. You'll get an idea of a traditional wedding in Pakistan. Don't worry, I'll cover everything. Weddings in Pakistan usually consists of multiple functions (though I'm not a huge fan of it, I find it unnecessary but it is what it is) Mehndi, Shaadi(Wedding Ceremony) and a Valima. There are other customary Events as well but let's just keep it to these three events.

I was impressed with your productivity this week. I had to miss a lot of your great posts or it would be @jaynie's magazine 😆

Absolutely agree. She spares no time and effort and every one of her posts is very cool. Such a consistently high level is a top league. You and @jaynie have your own unique style and stick to it. This is a good example to follow and even if you don't realize it, your posts are still training new good blogger writers.

I have you to thank for your posts. Thanks to you, I always have something to choose from. Many of your thoughts are very relevant to me, such as those about the pursuit of material goods.

I was able to read at least two of your selections in this edition, and I must say they were excellent: "My Creative Workspace" and "@Jaynie's 'The Lone Creative - Just a little story about my friendship with Dean Moriarty'."

The fact that I'm still among these authors in your magazine fills me with gratitude.

Oi! You are a magnificent writer! - And human being! so shhhh! <3

If you say so 🙈
