#Club100 - My City in 10 Photos - Yalova

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

Hello, dear World Of XPilar Community,

I chose Yalova to participate in this beautiful competition prepared by our group. This small city that I visited last week is a small city adjacent to Istanbul, where the sea and green meet. Since my family lives in this city, I definitely visit this place every year. This year, I took a lot of photos to create content on Steemit.

1. Moving Villa Walkway

Since Yalova city center is located on the edge of the Marmara coast, there are plenty of walking paths in the city. This walking path is approximately 1.7 km long, close to city traffic. It is between IDO Yalova Ferry Port and Moving Villa. There is also a bicycle path in this area.

2. Moving Villa

I shared a detailed post for Moving Villa here. This special Villa belongs to Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. Today, it is used as a museum. The story of the villa is quite pleasant. While visiting his yacht, Atatürk sees the plane tree right next to the villa. He has the villa built right next to this plane tree. One day, while visiting the villa, he realizes that his gardener is about to cut the branches of this plane tree. After learning that the tree has touched the villa, he orders the villa to be moved. In this way, the branches of the tree do not touch the villa, and cutting of the branches is prevented.

3. Moving Villa Restaurant

Today, a restaurant has been opened in the garden of the Moving Villa, which I mentioned in the previous entry. The view in this cute place is unique. In front of you is the famous Moving Villa and the Sycamore tree. You can also see Istanbul on the opposite shore of the sea. Even the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in Istanbul is among the sights of this cafe.

4. Mihenk Street

Mihenk Street is one of the central points of the city. The town hall is within walking distance of the ferry port. In addition, the square behind this street can be called the meeting point of the city. Official events are held in this area.

5.17 August Park

Before I talk about this park, I would like to explain why this park was given this name. Unfortunately, on August 17, 1999, Turkey's largest earthquake took place. For this reason, the park was named August 17 Park to commemorate this black day. Also, Yalova Earthquake Monument is located in this park. The park is located next to the Yalova coast and has a very large green area. In this park, you can sit on the grass and have a good time. Seagull sounds and wave sounds will definitely accompany you in this park.

6.Yalova City Museum

I mentioned that Yalova is a small town. In fact, Yalova was a district of Istanbul until 1995. The building, which is used as the city museum today, was used as the district governor's office. In 2013, this building was turned into a museum. The history of Yalova from the Ottoman period to the first years of the Republic is explained in the museum.

7.IDO Yalova Ferry Port

Yalova is adjacent to the metropolitan city of Istanbul, Turkey's largest province. You can go to Istanbul by ferry. In addition, those who want to travel to the neighboring city of Bursa from Istanbul have to use the ferry. It is possible to travel to both sides of Istanbul by ferry. If you want to go to the Anatolian side, you need to take the Pendik Ferry, and if you want to go to the European side, you need to take the Yenikapı ferry.

8.Yalova Coastal Road

One of my favorite features of the city is the long coastline in the city. Although it is not possible to swim in every part of the city, you can take long walks by the beach and make up for this deficiency. The plane trees adorning the coastline make the view unique.

9.Gazi Paşa Street

Gazipaşa Street, located in Bahçelievler District, is quite long. The houses on this street have sea views. That's why it can be called one of the most luxurious streets of the city. This street is also within walking distance of the city centre. At the end of the street, you can reach the bazaar.

10.Karaca Arboretum

I also told you about Karaca arboretum, Turkey's first arboretum. This area was founded by Hayrettin Karaca, a famous environmentalist and founder of TEMA foundation. Home to more than 7000 kinds of trees, the arboterum is established on a 13.5-hectare area. Trees brought from various parts of the world by Hayrettin Karaca are also a place where rare trees are found in Turkey. In my personal opinion, if you are going to visit Yalova, this is one of the places you should definitely see.

I invite my dear @busraca, who lives in Samsun, one of the most beautiful cities of the Black Sea, and @emine580, who lives in Trabzon, another beautiful city of the Black Sea, to this interesting competition.

I am looking forward to the entries of other competitor friends. Good luck everybody
