Following a Tutorial to Make Portraits

Today I went to try out a great tutorial to help drawing a portrait made by @rucoin. It was really fun to do as the post itself is very encouraging. You can find the tutorial here. In fact, I didn't feel bad at all for not getting it, it is a question of practice, therefore time. Like he said, drawing every day will make a difference. In fact, I did a few tries of it today, motivated to get better by the next one.

So none of them are perfect, not that they are all bad, just not really what I was aiming for. Got better by the third try. The first one, i think it is nice, but I can see some of my usual general features and not those from the reference picture
First try :

So I tried again for a second shot. Ok, not quite as pretty, like really not as pretty. But I did notice that I did a few parts better (well not better, more like what I was aiming to draw). They did not come out as and where I wanted too, but I could see and understand more what was wrong with it. Going too fast throught the steps, proportions and accuracy.
Second try :

So the third try, I gave more attention to the steps, and it did get better 🙂. Again, not quite as the picture, but for me, I see progress and that is just great.

I will continue to make more portraits using those baselines (In fact I will try one for a different platform), but tomorrow, I am going to try out his next tutorial about drawing a boot 👢😀. I strongly recommend everyone to go check his tutorials, they sure are helping me!

I hope you guys like them, thanks for the view.
