#club5050 Buckfastleigh Station (Power Up 70 Steem)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

Good evening Steemians and welcome to Buckfastleigh in Devon, England! Please have your tickets ready for inspection. I am kidding of course.

Let me show you around Buckfastleigh train station. I assure you that I didn’t take these images fifty years or more ago. When you are standing here on the old fashioned platform in Devon though it feels like you have stepped back in time.

I am interested in everything travel related so I take my time taking it all in. I am quite intrigued and manage to get a little feel of what a train journey was like in the olden days.

I find Buckfastleigh station ever so clean and well maintained. There is even a staff member on gardening duty. I adore the colourful hanging baskets.

There is a large, complimentary open air parking just around the corner so it is ever so easy to hop on the steam train which is just about to depart from Buckfastleigh.

A bit over a mile from the station is the Abbey where the popular, especially in Scotland, drink Buckfast is brewed. It is a tonic wine which is even caffeinated. It contains fifteen percent alcohol. It has a peculiar taste and can get you drunk quite quickly without breaking the bank.

If you play the video below don’t forget to wave and smile at the steam train. Also share if you like whether you have ridden on a steam train before?

I will not dare to keep you Steemians any longer so you don’t end up missing your train. Cheers and till next time!

This post of mine has been entirely inspired by @mister-omortson who currently also has The Station Contest on.

Last but not least I would like to mention that I also powered up 70 Steem and here is a screenshot of this transaction.

At first, I thought it was some kind of museum or staged photography.
After reading the text, I realized that it is not.

Beautiful beauty! 😂

It would be very nice if you took clickable photos! Do you know how to insert them here?

Thank you my friend. It is a proper working station indeed despite its vintage appearance. I have never used clickable images in my blog and it can't be a better time to start really as I am currently drafting my next post. I will be very grateful if you talk me through the process. For this post I already recorded a short video using my Nikon camera rather than the iPhone based on your previous comment on my exhibition post. Cheers.

Hello.
It is necessary to frame the inserted photo with square brackets, and then write the link in parentheses again.

Approximately, like this. Try to do.

Are you making videos on your iPhone for Instagram? If not, then it is better to do it in Landscape format, so that it is more convenient to watch on the monitor, on TV. So you can better see the moving locomotive. :)

Without brackets

I added brackets

Happy Friday my friend. Thanks a million. I gave it a try and it works. I am pleased that it is not time consuming at all. I will certainly be inserting clickable images from now on. I like that you explained it in your own words rather than just send me a link to a five years old manual. I love the example with the bird in flight, maybe a mallard? Thanks for the video tip. I will be recording videos in landscape format from now on. I am even aiming at taking them primarily with my Nikon camera so the viewers enjoy better quality footage. I am currently not doing anything for Instagram. Probably it has been at least a week since I saw what is going on there. I am happy here on Steemit.

Your winter looks proper snow-white. We haven't even seen a snowflake here this year. It is one degree Celsius right now which counts as super-duper cold but I am also working from home so I am warm and cosy. I love summer goats. I remember seeing a few grazing by a beach in Istria, Croatia.

your post is really beautiful and useful, I will always wait for your work for me to like and read it, hopefully we can be good friends

if you like to come to my post to just like and comment, friends.
I hope all your works are also enjoyed by many people

Thank you very much

I am glad you do @ultravioletmag Thanks for the follow and for stopping by really. You are an artist I have been following here on the platform for quite a while to be honest. I love your paintings and I am also pleased to see posts from familiar places here in England.

Thank you ever so much for awarding my post @worldofxpilar I love being a part of the community highlights under the #wox-bestpick campaign as this way my posts reach more of the members here. I love checking out the rest of the shortlisted articles which I also then support and start interacting with their authors.

What a beautiful publication, I would love to travel by train, I did it as a child with my parents.
Thank you for this set of photographs that make us feel that we are visiting the Buckfastleigh Station.
Saludé al tren de vídeo. :-)

Thanks a million my friend @mariita52 I am actually pleased that my post brought up childhood memories for you. I enjoyed travelling by train with my grandfather too. He was literally travelling every week and whenever I could I joined him. I still smile when I remember him telling me to pretend that I was asleep on a few seats when the train was approaching a busy station. Then nobody sat right next to us so we had more space just to ourselves. I am thrilled that my photos made you feel like you were standing here on the platform at Buckfastleigh train station as this is exactly what I was hoping to achieve by sharing these images. I will definitely do my best and include more videos in my next posts.

Oh! What a wonderful story with your grandfather, I love it, thank you for the wonderful response, you have made me very happy.
