#club5050 Winter The London Way

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

The photos I decided to feature here today are exactly what winter in the city of London looks like right now.

The tree boasting a colour known amongst hairdressers as light auburn unsurprisingly caught my eye.

It is a Mexican Swamp Cypress "Taxodium mucronatum" which certainly stands out of the crowd. It is part of the Cupressaceae family and it is native to Texas, Guatemala and Mexico.

It looks like a pine tree, especially from afar but it isn’t and it is certainly not evergreen as you can see, just another miracle of nature I dare to conclude. This particular tree is also a champion which means it is one of the biggest in Britain.

It grows happily here in west London by the river Thames. It is never lonely because of the bench next to it. This tree is a good listener I reckon and what a pity it isn’t able to blog as I bet it has tons of interesting stories to tell.

A Canada goose "Branta canadensis".

This is also the favourite fishing spot of a heron. I am really curious to find out whether these gorgeous big birds hang around the Vyatka River too @apnigrich?

A grey heron "Ardea cinerea".

The copper tree certainly doesn’t mind me sitting on the bench reading my book or commenting on Steemit. It never rushes me to leave or move on so I take my time and have another sip of my coffee.

The tree doesn’t care what you wear so by no surprise it doesn’t compliment my Wellington boots and matching beanie both with birds on of course. I didn’t take a selfie. What a missed opportunity some would think but I can live with that.

Canada geese "Branta canadensis", mallards "Anas platyrhynchos" and a mandarin duck "Aix galericulata".

I wish you all a happy week and spare a few hours to admire the nature which surrounds you. It is pretty wintertime too, whatever this season looks like in your area.

Sort:

I have seen a heron on Vyatka about 5 times. And it was a very long distance. Such birds are rare in our region. It is possible that they live in the south of our region.
The area has a large area and a very wide variety of flora and fauna

Beautiful winter you have! We have this kind of nature in September-October

Great photos!
The rubber boots in the water. How funny!

Thank you ever so much! I really appreciate that you also resteemed my post as this way it will be seen by even more Steemians. I am glad that you noticed the Wellies in the water which are exactly why I decided to include this photo here. Lifestyle images are a bit of a gamble when taking but they are so interesting to look at later on hoping to find a treasure like this.

I love the color of the tree as it beautiful Reflected in the water. Place looks so calm and beautiful. Ducks are also enjoying their routin.

I am glad that you like this fantastic landscape. I love spending time by the water. The reflection of the copper tree is undoubtedly the star here. I enjoyed looking at the mallards in the water which kept messing with the reflection of the tree. I reckon they just insisted on becoming a part of the photograph.

What amazing photography! Thank you for sharing!

Maravilloso.

Greetings @adeljose It is lovely to hear from you. This is a tranquil place ideal for reconnecting with nature maybe even for meditation especially on a weekday when fewer locals and tourists are out and about.

What a beautiful place, the trees are very beautiful.

This post on what winter looks like in London is beautiful. The park is beautiful and the tree you photographed is magnificent

Thank you ever so much my friend! It is great to hear from you and see you around here in the WORLD OF XPILAR. This is a stunning tree so I thought let’s not be selfish and keep the photos just to myself.

Hello friends @petface beautiful nature photos. This tree really looks unreal with its size and color. A really nice place to rest your body and soul from the city mess.

Greetings my friend. I am pleased that you like the photos which I featured here. It is a special place indeed where I see myself taking a deckchair and my picnic backpack when the weather gets warmer. What is January like in Croatia? How are you getting on with renovating the boat?

Well here it is also cold and it is time for a little winter to come, the strong and cold north wind blows during the day is good while there is sun but the mornings and nights are cold.

The renovation of the boat is also on break because the boat is in an open yard not in the garage. I'm not in a hurry that I have to finish in a certain time, so I'll wait for a little warmer weather.
I'll have to finish it by May.

Greetings dear friend ✌
