Edgeworth Johnstone, One of 12 Top Stuckists

Stuckism protest at the wrong venue by Edgeworth Johnstone

By top I mean prolific, non-stop, art-fertile.

Yesterday a parcel from Mr. Edgeworth Johnstone arrived. Presents! I was already an honorary fan club member of Black Ivory Audio and Printmaking Club, his and Emma Pugmire’s all out art extravaganza and wonder studio, until I realized he must be supported no matter what sum requested. So I signed up with another email to get the money through. This isn’t easy. Some of you may know that I am keeping my income below the U.S. poverty threshold to avoid paying federal tax to killers. I’m glad my wife Rose wanted in. We split the cost of a year membeship. I’ll just eat more rice, have less fun outside the house, and gamble lightly with crypto to balance Poor Ronnie’s Anti-ethnic cleansing Almanac.

[To Edgeworth if reading. My credit card company is dumb. Because the purchase was in pounds they thought fraud was being committed in a far away land. So they put a hold on the card for a couple days. Keep an eye on your account.]

I think Edgeworth will be a recurring theme here, and in the book I am writing, Making Friends With Wild Dogs: Reflections on Stuckism for Its 25th Anniversary. I believe he is one of the top 12 Stuckists working on earth at present. (And 12 might be a high number.) There are plenty more who identify with the movement, but man, Edgeworth is Stuckist royalty. He does not stop. We all have much to learn from him.

One of his ongoing projects is painting copies of the masks he made a couple years ago. He just printed a beautifully designed book of those masks, which was included in my fan club parcel. I know that a book like this costs mucho pounds to print. A yearly fan club member gets five packages of signed art paraphernalia delivered to her door. Edgeworth is biting off and swallowing way more than others in the same dimension could feasibly chew. That is an artist!

I also received an added bonus to my fan club shipment. A hand-painted Ron Throop t-shirt. You’ll need to watch the second video to understand and fully appreciate the significance. The first video is a What’s App conversation we had over a year ago:

At some point in the interview Edgeworth says that he is a “maker”. An understatement for sure. I think I’d rather call him a creator. Not the Creator, of course—just a high artist expressing the individual soul within all of us. He’s human, that is certain. No squirrel would understand the following “Stuckism for your ears” (watch for the shirt):

So much more on Edgeworth to write about. Become a fan and get ahead of me for the next bit. I must stop now and go paint something. I’m aspiring to be an influential Stuckist painter.
