I Learned a New Word
Cannulated Wurnt Escaped From County Fair 2024. Acrylic on loose canvas, 20 x 23"
Years ago at the N.Y. State Fair, I saw a living cow with a window built into her side. Fair goers could stop by to peek into the private maelstrom of a digesting cow. A cannula is a surgically implanted flange rubber cylinder for students at universities to monitor a cow’s digestion with their eyeballs. Yesterday, like everyday on earth since I turned 23, I realized that the humans are gross and wickedly specie-centric.
This painting is of a pregnant wurnt for fair-goers to marvel about their own grossness.
