Title for a Duo Exhibition

I am in the process of packing 110 paintings for travel next month to a gallery in Central New York. All loose canvas makes for easy traveling. It’s a duo exhibition with a sculptor whom I have not met beyond email introduction. The gallery director did right by pairing us up. He’s got a great sense of humor and is open to Stuckism. We had to come up with a title for the show, and he graciously picked it from Stuckism.

Precept #16 from the Manifesto:

The Stuckist gives up the laborious task of playing games of novelty, shock and gimmick. The Stuckist neither looks backwards nor forwards but is engaged with the study of the human condition. The Stuckists champion process over cleverness, realism over abstraction, content over void, humour over wittiness and painting over smugness.

The title: Visions of the Human Condition - Slade and Throop

From Terry the sculptor: “I'm sure we will give the audience some things to think about.”
